Delicious Argentine Dining 1/18/2011

Why, have I never tried South Point before? Great change of pace. Nice menu with a wide variety of choices. Reasonably priced and family friendly. I ordered their Cilantro Caesar with chicken. Looking forward to going back. Love the little rolls they serve more

Tasty, Fresh Argentinean Cuisine 2/25/2008

On a busy Saturday night made busier by a big bike race in town, the wait at other restaurants was outlandish. Waiting in line at a popular upscale restaurant, my husband dashed into a couple of places and found that South Point Grill had no wait. That seemed odd and a bit concerning, but we decided to give it a try. \r \r To our delight, South Point Grill is a real gem. The menu was extensive and packed with mouth-watering choices. The margarita was tart and refreshing. The only beer on tap was Stella Artois and that was fine with me. The nice little rolls were served with a delcicious dipping sauce. My guess is that it was olive oil, plenty of garlic (maybe an infusion) and then finely diced cilantro. Mmmmmm! I had the beef tenderloin salad it was a beautiful mix of greens, olives, blue cheese crumbles, tomatoes, grilled zucchini and the most tender and tasty beef. It was fabulous! My husband had the skirt steak with mashed potatoes. He subbed the broccoli for a small caesar salad. We were too full to order dessert but there is no doubt we will be back.\r \r The restaurant has a really soothing ambience. Tables and booths are lighted with small pendant lights with beaded amber shades to create a very cozy and intimate setting. I'm almost afraid to tell others about this place because I liked the fact we didn't have to wait. There were plenty of people in the place but still a few open tables. I hope they make it!\r \r Note that since the time the first review was written, the cuisine was corrected to reflect its Argentinean, not Mexican, cuisine. Pros: Tasty Fresh Food, Nice Atmospehre, Good Value Cons: In A Crowded Area more

First of all I would like to clarify this Restaurant Cuisine is NOT Mexican, but Argentine 8/22/2007

When I wanted to write a review about this Restaurant, I tried to get the list from Argentine Restaurant, but instead its listed as Mexican!!!\r Its got one of the best steaks I ever had, served with mashed potatoes that you can taste it's made from scracht, and the veggies were very fresh as well. I was impressed not only by the food, but also by the decor, the bar, ambience, atmosphere, and most of all, its prices.\r Usually, when you go to an argentine spot, is usually a mom and pop restaurant, or by the most, it looks like a regular LA's joint, but this one is, to my opinion, the best, by far, argentinian restaurant in Los Angeles, and it is cheaper than the Gaucho Grills!!! Also, even though I had my New York steak with a good glass of Malbec, they offered me a more than excellent Peach Mojito, and they said that their Crepes, or Panqueques were voted second best dessert in Valencia!! (I couldn't try them, but for sure will in my visit).\r It was an amazing experience, and I was really WOWED!!\r Congratulations, I'll see you guys very soon Pros: Two thumbs way up!! Cons: Open one closer to L.A. West Side more
