They now have a smoke shop where the old donut shop used to be. I've been trying to quit but it's a sick habit. Now I can get my tubes, tobacco and roll my own. Costs a lot less. ...

Worst

I went in for a bottle of wine they claim to have and they didn't even have it- I noticed prices were expensive compared to others in the area- and the workers were not very helpf...

Avoid- lousy beer selection and very high prices! 8/13/2007

I lived in Plainville for 6 years and South Liquor Mart was right around the corner from me, but we only went there if Plainville Liquors, which was about a mile from me, was closed. The only positive thing I can say about the store is there is plenty of parking. Other than that, their prices are extremely high; I could never find the kinds of beers that I buy; there are no prices on any of the beers, no signs with prices; no price listings- you have to ask for each one, and the staff never knows- they have to go check. Some of the staff is helpful- it depends on who is working. Pros: Plenty of parking Cons: High prices; poor selection of beer; no price listings or price signs; staff doesn't know the prices more

Hands down one of the best places for BEER BEER BEER 3/18/2007

I'm a beer lover. And not just Bud or your typical domestic water. I've been brewing my own for the past 5 years and enjoy the hoppy beers from Dog Fish Head and Craft brews. I've been living in the area for the past 20 years and never once considered this place to have the selection of beer. more

Dont go if you want an ice luge 1/21/2007

I purposely ordered an ice luge three days before New Year's to enusre I would have one, I called three times to ask when I should come and pick it up, and I was told anytime before closing. I get three people with me, and a truck because after all we are picking up an ice luge. I get to the counter, tell them I ordered an ice luge, here is my receipt, and they tell me, um we dont have any ice luges left. Excuse me, its New Year's Eve, I ordered this three days ago and was ensured an ice luge. Absolutely NOTHING, not even im sorry. They were so uncaring, like it was my fault they messed up. They gave me nothing, but said I can give you your money back. I would never go here again. more

Great customer service 9/17/2006

Great customer service and great selection! Every time I go there they treat me like family. Also almost all the time time they have free beer or wine for customers to try. It is the only liquor store i go to! I highly recommend South Liquor Mart! Pros: great location, always parking, and wonderful staff! more

This place is so friendly! They've got stuff packed to the walls! If they don't have something you want, ask and they'll order it for you! It's an easy place to frequent. The staff makes you feel right at home! Pros: ample parking, vast selection of products always in stock Cons: They make you want to go there far too often! more

Excellent wine service and selection 8/6/2006

In town visiting the in-laws from San Fran and rarely do I find any wine shop in the area that carries any sort of a selection. I was surprised and extremely excited when I came across this place by chance. Pros: Wine selection, parking and service Cons: Outside of the building more

For a quiet town like Plainville, I was truly amazed by the selection in wine, beer, and scotch that was available. I happened by while on the way to the Wrentham outlets, and was glad that I went in. They plan an extensive renovation, which should really put this place on the map for people who are shopping in the area. I highly recommend a visit. more

I've been thru the area several times over the years and South Mart has really improved its selection and customer service. I plan on doing all mine wine selections there from now on as the ownership is extremely knowledgable and recommend some great wines to me. I'm glad this area has finally got a real wine store with really educated owners. more

South Liquor Mart is an excellent wine and spirits destination. I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised to find such a special and unique place outside of the metro Boston area. It's obvious that the owners are highly sophisticated oenophiles given the excellent selection of highly sought-after wines. They have a great assortment of distinct California wines. What a find !!! 5/11/2006

Had a gathering in the area last weekend so I called ahead to see if they sold a few different kinds of French wines and sure enough, they were there. The manager personally walked me through the inventory and made suggestions based on the meal -he was very helpful and knew his stuff. I was never aware of this place but am glad a friend told me about it. Worth checking out. Pros: good parking, good location , friendly staff more

Friendly Staff, One Stop Shop 5/11/2006

When I went shopping at Wrentham Outlet, I found South Liquor Mart. Stopped over to buy some beers on the way to BBQ. I was impressed with their selection of not only beers but wines also. Staff were very helpful, too. I ened up stocking up on the wine. Wrentham Outlet for clothes and South Liquor Mart for alcohol... perfect! Pros: Helpful Staff, Selection, Price more

The Best Buy for all your Liquor needs 5/11/2006

South Liquor Mart has been my favorite Liquor store since 1998. The knowledgeable staff, pricing and quality of their wine out beats the competition. I feel if anyone is in the area, they should definitely stop in and have a taste of wine (during their wine tasting hours). Highly Recommended place to Buy or Browse unique or popular wines. more

Wish I found this jem earlier 5/10/2006

My wife and I used to go to Wrentham for the Discount Shopping; now we also go there for our liquor needs. The witty and knowledgeable staff at the South Liquor Mart is only outdone by their incredibly comprehensive selection of beers and wines. If you dont know what wine to serve with the smoked pheasant youre having for that business dinner, or which beer will compliment the buffalo burgers youre making on the grill, the staff will lead you in the right direction. I have been a discerning wine consumer for the past 20 years and very few places come to mind when searching for my favorite wines and liquor. South Liquor Mart is one of those spots, with great varieties of wine & liquor, prices that are the most competitive, and friendly professional service that you can always count on. Thanks for the delivery to Wellesley!!! 5/10/2006

I wanted to send a case of assorted wines to a friend of mine in Wellesley. I'm from Texas so I don't know the area that well. I called 2 liquor stores before I got very lucky with South Liquor Mart. Not only were they friendly, but offered to deliver to Wellesley (which I found out is more than 40 miles) at NO CHARGE! They delivered a beautiful gift basket and a case of wine. They are my GOTO for wine deliveries in Mass. Pros: Delivery, Gift baskets, A lot of wine Cons: Not in TX more
