The Most Friendly Chinese Restaurant in ABQ! 10/5/2006

I absolutely adore the family that operates South China. Family owned and operated. The service is EXCELLENT. The food is delicious, vegetables are ALWAYS fresh and crunchy. They offer a great variety of dishes and some excellent appetizers. Some really great spicy dishes! If they recognize you as a regular customer they always will bring you a free appetizer or a huge bowl of soup before your meal. The chef doesn't speak much English but always comes out and asks how the food is and if you need anything else. The servers always super prompt and always make sure you drinks are topped off and that you have plenty of rice. My husband and I can spend $12-$15 in there for DINNER, INCLUDING tip, and still walk out of there with leftovers. LOVE THEM! Pros: Friendly, Fast, Lots of Food Cons: Small restaurant, tables close together more

Best Chinese Restaurant in ABQ 6/21/2006

I know most ABQians prefer the big buffet where they can go up to a tray and scoop out all you can eat but if like me you prefer a meal either eat in or take out this has always been the best Chinese in town. The menu has all the favorites but don't look for lobster or crab legs. A single dinner (or even lunch) can easily serve 2 for the price of 1 for a very reasonable amount of money. Spicy dishes are also offered and you can set your spice level to your own personal taste. A family business with the friendliest and nicest people making the meals so quickly there is barely a wait. This is an undiscovered gem of a restaurant that more people need to find and try. Pros: Very large meals at a reasonable price Cons: no buffet for the cafeteria crowd more

Best Chinese Food 5/27/2004

I grew up in NYC and been in the Southwest almost 30 years, 26 years in Phoenix, and 4 years in Albuquerque. South China Chinese Restaurant is the best I have had since leaving NYC. The portions are huge, the food is awesome, and the service is fantastic. The lunch specials are unbelievable for the price! Pros: All good more
