At first it seemed that they were right on the money and told us everything they wanted us to hear. . . ""we're interested in getting you back into your house . . .we'll have you back home in no time . . ."" and then it turned into, ""We're running into a problem with our sub-contractors . . . so and so's not doing their job,"" etc. The real deal is this, there is no supervision and there is a lack of project planning. Couple that with no attention to detail and what you have is another disaster, in addition to the reason you called them in the first place. From the drywall up, the workmanship was shoddy at best, the painting was sloppy and when they were asked to fix things it took a lot of coercion and constant oversight on our part to get them to just do the right thing. The other disgusting thing was the way they tried to brow beat us into using their sub-contractors for things like carpet and flooring. ""Well, if you don't use MY guy, I can't guarantee that I'll be able to meet your expectations and I won't be held responsible for the quality of their work"". Fact is, the one contractor we hired was the only one to come to the party with what we expected from them. It's almost four months since the disaster and we're still not all together and they haven't finished and probably won't have it wrapped up until after the holiday. If you want to worry about the quality of repair or remodel, micro manage your project and be frustrated with the results, by all means call SOUTH CENTRAL CONTRACTORS OF MICHIGAN LOCATED IN JACKSON, MI!\r
\r
The sub-contractors SCC employs are not by any stretch professionals and their crappy work shows in every aspect of the project. I will never be 100% happy with the work they've done in our home.\r
\r
Repairs to mistakes made were rectified by covering them up with architectural elements rather than taking them back to stage 1 and doing an honest repair.\r
\r
Bottom line is this, want problems in excess of the ones you have? Need to Worry? SCCMI!
Pros: The main guy pays good lip service
Cons: but falls way short on delivery.
