We have done business with SCFCU since 1984, when it was still SC Naval Shipyard Credit Union. I have nothing but good to say about them. We haven't lived in SC since 1986, but we kept an account there because they have been so helpful. When we lived overseas they were always helpful and have been so ever since. When we married, neither of us had a credit record, but SCFCU had a record of my husband's house loan from nearly 8 years earlier, so they gave us a car loan based on that! I suspect we will keep an account open w/ them for many, many years to come! more

This place was great for one thing and one thing only--a very low mortgage interest rate. Otherwise, we were very unimpressed. They initially overcharged us on several parts of our closing costs (all of which were corrected at our request, but it was still frustrating to have had them show up incorrectly at all!). When we've gone into the bank, they are friendly, but don't seem particularly knowledgable. For example, I asked a teller a question about cashier's checks. She said that their customer service desk would be able to handle the transaction for me. After waiting 30 minutes in line for the customer service desk, they told me that they couldn't do the transaction at their location at all...Very frustrating. PROS: Great Rates CONS: Poor service more

I'm shocked that you can still walk into the bank with just a driver's license (no account number, etc) and withdraw money, but it sure was convenient. Troi Mack at the Bee Street location is excellent, efficient, and great to work with. more
