This our favorite place for lunch, dinner and especially Sunday brunch. The manager here (the older one) is the greatest! A genuinely nice person. He makes you feel really welcomed. The food is excellent!! You have to try the seafood salad!! A huge portion of a excellent variety of seafood and its sooo fresh! They serve it for lunch and dinner. Love the mahi sandwhich they offer for lunch. Fresh! fresh! fresh! Beautiful Ocean Harbor views and they always have tables available right by the window. Parking is a breeze. Reasonable prices Quality food, wonderful atmosphere.\r more

I heard different reviews on this place and decided to check it out. The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful!! Ocean view with a huge patio, The waitress came over and was very friendly. She explained the specials and highly recommended for us to try one of their fish dishes. So I had their stuffed salmon with a shrimp and crab stuffing and was not disappointed. Infact it was delicious!! It was served with garlic mash potatoes and steamed asparagus. My friend had a salad that also was fantastic with a variety a fish and was piled on a bed of mix greens. She was in heaven with this dish. We each had a glass of wine and it had a great wine selection. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be back thier soon,\r more

We've been here a number of times, mostly for private parties in the banquet room, but also brunch a couple times. The setting is very nice, and a good alternative to more expensive downtown ocean view restaurants. Parking is convenient. You can also walk outside and enjoy the view, boats, etc. They have a nice brunch, took mom and she was very impressed. They kept the champagne flowing which is always appreciated. Have not been there for regular dinner or lunch, but our experiences have always been positive and we'd go back, especially for brunch.\r more

Just had dinner here and them starter bread was great and they kept bringing more when I wanted more. The wife had the prime rib and it as also great I had seafood. The price over all was great. I feel bad for everyone that had a bad experience but I will come back here again.\r more

My friend and I have been here three times in the last few weeks and have been pleased each time. To be honest we have only tried the weekly specials and happy hour items but each time the service, drinks, and food has been quite good. We have found the waitresses and manager to be very friendly and eager to please their customers. I do agree that this restaurant caters to the middle age group and is not a hot spot but that's perfect as we are usually looking for a place to relax by their fire pits and enjoy the view and not listen to loud children.\r more

Anyways, go during happy hour for cheap drinks ($4 margarita monday). We had a tostada de ceviche (so unique and fresh, heard the shrimp ceviches good too), and fried calamari (served with rice, I liked them because they were light, not greasy). My friend had the strawberry margarita and gives it 5 stars.\r more

I just got back from eating here for the first time and it is in my top 3. I can't believe how good it was and how helpful our server was (all of them actually). This seafood place compares to other ones I've been to in Colima, Mexico. Oceanaire in downtown has NOTHING on southbay fish and grill, it's a million times better. I would rather have the fish ceviche by itself than anything at oceanaire.\r \r more

I brought my friend here the other day and we had an amazing time we sat out on the patio next to the fire pits and had amazing view of the water.. Such amazing view and food. Last night It was decided to have dinner in South Bay Fish An Grill ,... maybe it was time to try fresh ocean fish. Since I went there with little to no expectations and already had the idea that most people have no clue what good food is, I wasn't expecting much. Well, I would have to say that I left happy, non-disgruntled and satisfied. We ordered the Calamari, pork spring rolls, something crusted Mahi Mahi and rice pudding/nana wontons. South Bay Fish and Grill View Restaurant in Chula vista is where my family and I go for special holiday brunches - Mother's Day and Easter. Their brunch buffet is convenient and reasonably priced. The view of the bay is wonderful and the ambiance of the whole restaurant is bright and airy. The wait staff and management are very polite and hospitable. The restaurant is also a nice place to have a wedding reception... my grandparents had their 50th Wedding Anniversary Reception here. They also offer Wine Dinners, and Dinner and Dancing.\r more

Our out of town friends came in and we working looking for a place to go out to dinner. I had been to this restaurant years ago and I remembered the food was pretty good and the view was great. The special for the night was Lobster for $14.95 and was really good. Our server did a good job and made us feel welcome. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by the prices and every night they have a different special which for the food and the view is a great value. We will be back\r more
