We are so happy with the work that Sounds of Speed performed. Not only were their prices, more than reasonable the work done was exceptionally outstanding! Their professionalism, hopitality, knowledge and care of our vehicle, made our experience pleasurable and an honor to do business with Sounds of Speed Performance. We are so impressed with the quality work that they do that we definitely will NOT be taking our truck anywhere else! I had just finished speaking to my third "Muffler expert" of the day, all of whom had told me they were unable and unwilling to install the exhaust tips I had purchased myself on my IS350. I had some problems in the past with mechanics not knowing what they are doing and end up messing up my car. But once i met John and Mitch all my car troubles went out the window. They gave me detailed advice and tips on what to do with a typical or even major car problem. i always ask what they recommend cause i know they are not going to try and cheat me out of my money. These are the only ones i trust touching my car cause i know for sure if i come across a major problem with my car they are just a phone call away and all my problems are solved. Mitch and Jon have done outstanding work on all of my cars. They are a complete auto service facility and custom exhaust shop. Whatever I have needed done to my cars (oil change, fuel pump replacement, header & muffler installation, to name a few) they have done. They are my mechanics for life. As a woman, I don't know anything about cars, except how to add gas. Jon and Mitch are straight up. They take time to explain the problem, give you options, and are reasonably priced. They're honest and respectful and make me feel like I'm talking with a trusted brother or friend. My car has never run better. You all want quality work done on your car? Send it to these guys. I'm mechanically inclined and usually do work myself, but when my mom needs stuff done I sent her to Jon and Mitch. These guys are great, work around schedules, do clean work, and get it done right. They'll take the time to explain whats going on with your vehicle and fix it for you. I've seen some sick rides being built in this garage from a custom bmw motor swap to a restored mustang. When I was lazy and wanted my injectors done I brought my Evo to Jon to have him swap them for me. Bottom line is these guys are a class act and I make sure to give there number out to any customer I run into that asks about car's. Pros: Quality service more

Sounds of Speed is "the needle in the haystack" find when it comes to the best automotive place that gets the job done. I stumbled across them back in 05 when I needed to get my exhaust looked at. I took it down and met Mitch. The rest is history. Since that day, I not only take my car down but also my wife's. Pros: Professional. Dedicated. Get The Job Done Attitude. Cons: None. more

It doesn't matter if I get an oil change or due a major service. Every time I have used this shop I always have a good experience. If I were to ask advice such as I wanted to buy a 2001 BMW so I called Jonathan he told me that he sees these cars in his shop all the time and that it would nickel and dime me to death. He could easily tell me to buy it since he knows that I would use him to fix it but rather he says to not buy it and to stick with my Acura instead. This meant a lot to me because he could have encouraged me to buy it and end up spending big bucks at his shop. He just seemed to really care about my personal interest rather than his own. I have been looking for an after-market exhaust kit for my Pathfinder for many months with no luck. I heard about Sounds of Speed from two independent reliable sources, so I had to check them out. John and Mitch were honest and up front about the work, made excellent recommendations, set true expectations, and obviously take pride in their work, because not only does it perform very well, it looks perfect. Mitch installed a custom Magnaflow exhaust on my Pathfinder and did an A++ job! It is much better than an after-market kit would have been. My fuel economy improved from barely 16 mpg to 17+ mpg and I can feel the difference in power, and definitely in responsiveness. Nice work guys and thank you. more

I have been to many auto shops and nothing compares to this one. I have had my car worked on in the pass by other people and nothing good came out of it. Jonathan was great at telling me what the other mechanics messed up on and did a great job fixing it. Mitch and Jonathan did a great job customizing an exhaust system for my car, too. It was put together very well. I even stop by and have Jonathan work on little things on my car, when something happens. I really like the fact that after spending a lot of money on my car, he will call me and see if my car is running fine. I left my car over night and Jonathan cleaned out my messy car. I couldn't believe it. You must take your car here! more

I needed some work done on the exhaust installed by the previous owner on my '67 GTO. It was kinda cocked, had various leaks, and I had some factory style tips that I wanted to install. John racked it up and we did a "walk-under" of the car. The first thing I noticed is that there is a tremendous attention to detail. John and Mitch pointed out areas that needed attention, but ultimately gave me some choices and we selected a course of action based on what was best for my needs - there was no pressure tactics here, very professional guys. Mitch is an awesome welder and, again, has just fantastic attention to detail. The work turned out very nice - looks great, sounds great, and I just couldn't be happier. As far as pricing, I was given a quote and it tuned out to be moderately lower than initial quote since the work went faster than expected. Further, I showed up at 5 (they close at 6), and they agreed to a job that was likely to last at least 1.5 hours. I've gone to other exhaust shops here in the Bay over the years and this is by far the best I've seen? Pros: highly qualified staff with "can-do" attitude Cons: ??? more

I needed an exhaust system that was quieter and had more ground clearance. I discussed the possibilities with both owners and agreed to a system that they claimed would provide both. To be sure we were clear I gave written instructions regarding minimum ground and clutch slave cylinder clearance. These instructions were ignored. more

sounds of speed performance is a shop that I found on city search, and they do deliver on there promises. I called and talked to John asked him about some performace work on my camero, and he quoted me a fair price. I drove from the San Fransico area and was pleased with the location of the shop, very close to the 101 freeway, and easy to find. John and Mitch are great guys that are easy to talk to, and deliver the work as promised. Not only does my camero now sound great, but it drives much better also. Sounds of speed does all kinds of work to all makes and model cars, my recomendation is go see these guys, they are a one stop shop. All I can say is WOW. Sounds of speed blew me away with there attention to detail, and customer service. John and Mitch are great owners, and they treated me very good. I found them on citysearch and they are close to my work, so I checked them out, and they did such an awesome job on my truck that I will go back many more times. They have a great new location with plenty of parking, early bird drop off, and fair estimates. I was pleased with the work and upon paying the bill they explained I was given a 10% discount as a grand opening special. There are not shops like this around now days. Great staff with an emphasis on customer service. Staff have full ASE master technician certifcations. This shop handles all types of repairs for all makes and models of vehicles, both foreign and domestic. They can take care of all things from tires and brakes to custom exhaust systems. Lots of performance ideas for your car or bike. New location in Santa Clara, excellant parking, and great hours. Open Mon - Fri 8-6, and Sat 9-5. I have had work done by them and they are now my one stop shop. John and Mitch know there stuff. Pros: Great service and custom performance work more
