Individual Counseling: Individual counseling is where we help you get sexually sober and then hold you accountable for the actions it takes to stay sober. With stable sexual sobriety, we begin to explore how you got here and work to understand and heal old wounds and past losses.

Partner Counseling: Too often, the partners and spouses of sex addicts find themselves alone, traumatized, and without the care and support they really need. The right care makes a difference. We understand and we can help.

Couple's Counseling: The discovery of sexual betrayal is a terrible crisis for any couple. We'll help you understand what happened and orient you both to a process of understanding sexual sobriety, the recovery process, and healthy accountability. Other issues often addressed include formal disclosure, negotiable and non-negotiable bottom lines, and emotional and sexual boundaries.

Jeff Schultz integrates the concepts and interventions of Stan Tatkin's PACT couples therapy (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy) with the special needs of the couple in crisis related to sex addiction.

Group Counseling: Those who maintain sexual sobriety participate in at least three things - Individual counseling, Group counseling, and active 12 step group participation. Our clients tell us that the Men's Sex Addiction Groups are a key part of their ongoing recovery.

. Welcome to Sonoran Counseling Services - a counseling partnership that specializes in the unique recovery and healing needs of Sex Addicts and their Spouses and Partners.

Sex Addiction Counseling with Jeff Schultz,LPC,CSAT

My name is Jeff Schultz and I founded Sonoran Counseling Services with my wife,Francesca Schultz,to help men and women who struggle with the problem of sex addiction and to support the healing of Spouses and Partners affected by the Sex Addict's betrayal.

From my training with Dr. Patrick Carnes,my work as the lead counselor for sex addiction treatment at the Meadows, and my experience of being supervised by Pia Mellody,I've seen "low-bottom" sex addicts get better and "high-bottom" sex addicts stay sick.

The difference is always in the decision they make to do "whatever it takes" to get and stay sexually sober. It's as simple (but not easy) as that.

Healing "Infidelity Induced Trauma" with Francesca Schultz,MC,LPC

Francesca's work with the Spouses and Partners of Sex Addicts focuses on the traumatic wounds of sexual betrayal and guidance through the difficult decisions of early healing.

These are normal reactions to the trauma of sexual betrayal and they can easily seem out of control and unbearable.

Francesca uses EMDR as a therapy to decrease the intensity of traumatic reactions as well as bring relief to older and sometimes deeper wounds. She is trained and experienced in the use of EMDR with adults as well as children.

With more than 15 years of experience working with couples and families in crisis, and an expertise in the treatment of partners of sex addicts,Francesca knows how to help and really cares about your healing.

Couples Recovery with Jeff and Francesca Schultz

Francesca and I have developed a collaborative approach to Couples Counseling that helps couples through the chaos that follows the discovery or disclosure of sexual betrayal and the difficult questions that follow.

We help answer partner's questions like,"What do I do now?","Is there more?","Can I ever trust him again?" and we help the sex addict learn to tolerate emotions, practice empathy, and listen to know their spouse or partner better.

Counseling with couples affected by sex addiction isn't easy. There is so much at stake, and it's not the time for you to worry about whether your counselors are qualified. Francesca and I have both been around this block many times and we know what helps and what doesn't. Experience, training, and skill matter!

Specialized Couples sessions can include disclosures, amends, establishing accountability, and boundary setting.

We do this work jointly when possible. That means that there are four of us in your joint couples session.
