The owner is absolutely worthless when it comes to repairing your bike. He'll charge you what an auto mechanic charges.
Everything in the store is full MSRP price. You'd be lucky to find something 5-15 percent off. They are friendly if you want to spend lots of money on a new bike.
If you bring an old bike in needing repair you can expect a very high labor charge as well as a slow turn around time. I do not recommend this shop to anyone.
The bottom line: if you don't have a couple grand to buy a new bike then you will not get good service.
There are a host of on-line mom and pop retailers around the country that are better equipped for spare parts and honest information regarding how to do specific repairs.
Save your money, buy your own tools and talk to the various mom and pop retailers who sell on-line. Do not feel guilty about buying anything from other merchants.
I was charged 30$ to true a wheel. The first time was 20$ the second time they charged me an additional 10$ to make it right...
The over the counter staff is completely worthless. Those who say this is a good store are likely rich people who bought multi thousand dollar road race machines.
It's great to be treated good but if you don't have money expect no answers or help. Petaluma Cyclery is much more honest in labor fees when it comes to servicing neglected bikes.
I wish this place would go about of business. They are probably one of the most expensive and rude shops in the entire north bay area. Get your parts elsewhere.
Pros: only shop in town
Cons: expensive/bad service
