Being the planner that I am, I decided to thoroughly research pediatricians when I was pregnant. I heard wonderful things about summerwood from many people and decided to choose them. I ran into a couple of problems over my son's first year with visits there but nothing that required me to pull him from the practice. Until he turned 1. One day he woke up really sick and his stool was bright green. I brought him into the dr. and they tested him for a virus. The results were positive that he had the virus but they told me it would have to ""run it's course"" so I didn't do anything because they didn't give me directions what to do. Over those 4 months he had loose stool diapers 10 times a day, he wasn't interested in eating - I thought he was allergic to milk because he was at the age that we were starting him on the regular milk. He was referred to an allergy specialist - no allergy, they said he must be lactose intolerant. So I went from formula for awhile - still loose stool, went to soy milk - still loose stool, everything I tried he still had it. This went on for 5 months!!! I was going through diapers like crazy, trying all sorts of things.... finally he was referred to a gastroenterologist. First thing she said - I see he was tested positive in apr for cdef, was he treated? I said no - they told me it would go away on it's own. She said no - he needed a med to get rid of it. I get the med - all of a sudden 5 months of loose stool - GONE! I would not recommend summerwood to anyone.. ever... period.
