Solunto Baking Co

I'm the third generation in my family to frequent Solunto's. When it briefly went out of business my family mourned as if a family member died. We were thrilled when it reopened with the same bread. It is slightly different, but still close enough. We didn't think Solunto's could get any better, but with the new super friendly owners, it did! They now have a larger variety of foods and baked goods and we just recently discovered BREAKFAST which is AMAZING!!! Their egg benedict is the best breakfast I have every eaten! It is on a delicious rosemary italian slice with the best hollandaise sauce. What a gem. It may not be the fanciest place in Little Italy, but it has the best food!!! So glad it's back and so thankful for such great new owners! more

One of the waiters in this bakery is very nice, but I haven't had so much luck with the others. If you are from another country and set up shop here, it's probably a good idea to understand how important it is to Americans that you provide good customer service, regardless of how good your food is. Won't be coming back here again. more

The food wasn't quite as bad as the other reviewer, but the service really sucks. The worse part is that they're never open. they close in the afternoon and don't seem to want to work on weekends much and certainly not holidays. I come down to Little Italy a lot and every business has got a ton of customers and this place is always slow. Well, there is clearly a reason why. The food is nothing special and the service is bad. I've been treated pretty poorly by these guys. My wife is from Italy and she says that even though they are Italian, they would never make it work in Italy. She wold know. I guess they are trying to dump their poor attitudes off on us. Have given them several tries and will never go back. more

We went to Solunto for a Brunch. We ordered Fritata's, Zeppole and another pastry. Zeppole was basically cold, fried stale bread, nothing like a real Zeppole. The frittatas were made in the morning and reheated. Just awful. The chef needs to go work in a different industry, maybe waste management is more suited to his skills. I can only reccomend this place to people that have no taste buds, or those who like stale baked goods, and microwaved food.
