I was looking for a new place to get my BKT done since my former hair stylist moved too far North. I found Salon Solaras, read the stylists' bio on the website, and decided to go with Tasha. First time I did the BKT with her, I was pleasantly surprised to see how meticulous she was. She would pay attention to every single strand of hair, even those tiny little ones near my temples and ears. I really enjoyed to see that and to feel that she really cared for perfection. I'm really happy so far, and I'm must say that I'm very picky when it comes to hair stylists. I believe I have found my new hair stylist: Tasha Bertrand! more

Heather Gardner, My Hairmate 3/22/2012

Heather is my hairmate. She gets me. She gets my hair. She makes me feel amazing. She introduces me to new ideas. And she makes everyone envy my hair. Which is awesome. For someone who has thin hair, it's pretty annoying that you don't have a lot of options. But after four years, Heather has done things to my hair that I never thought were possible. When I decided to go platinum blond (from almost black), Heather gave me the low down (the honest truth) before we went for it. It would take time, and I was OK with that, because she made it look good. So good that everyone was asking where I got my hair done, almost everyday. Heather is always explaining the process and teaching me a new technique. I feel like she loves my hair as much as she loves me. I can't say enough about how talented she is. more

Tanya Kinney is a Super Star Stylist 2/13/2012

Tanya Kinney has been styling my hair for almost a year now and I LOVE IT! She is such a great listener and really takes time to create the best cut and color to suit my hair and personality. She always styles my hair the way I like it. Creative ideas that work! She makes me look and feel great! She is a joy to be around as well as a smart and talented lady. I would highly recommend her. more

Exceptional stylist 1/31/2012

Raechel Erenwert is, without a doubt, the best stylist I have ever been to, hands down. She is not only passionate, and meticulous, but she is amusing and entertaining as well. I had been accustomed to stylists that hardly listen to what you want, not offer any suggestions, and then slap a little barbicide on your neck and send you on your way. This is not the case with Raechel. She is personally invested in the satisfaction of her clients, which is, sadly to say harder and harder to find these days (and in my opinion her level of passion is nearly impossible to find). She is so good that at times, it feels less like having your hair styled than it does spending time with a good friend. I cannot recommend anyone more highly than I can her. more

Amazing hair stylist! 1/30/2012

Jacquie has been cutting my hair for a few years now and she is absolutely the best. I am extremely picky with my hair, however she is even more picky than me and makes sure that everything is perfect every time. She moved to Salon Solaras recently and it is a pretty awesome salon, everyone there is extremely nice, good vibe. Go with her and you will not be disappointed. more

Best in Austin 1/30/2012

Vicki Graham, who recently joined there, has been cutting and coloring my hair for the last 3 yaers. She is one of the best colorist on the planet!! I have been growing my hair out and was afraid to color it often. She has coached me through the whole process and my hair has never looked or felt better!!! Definetly would recommend her and this salon to everyone!! If you need some pampering, this is the place. more

The BEST!!! 1/29/2012

I've had my hair cut, colored and styled here a couple times and each experience has been above and beyond my expectations. The customer service is spot on - everyone is super helpful, always asking if you need anything to drink (including complimentary mimosa's!!!!) or they can get you anything. Heather is an AMAZING colorist - seriously, go to see her...she is patient if you have multiple requests or don't know exactly what you want and she nails it every time! more

Cassie Sparks has been doing my hair for over 10 years now. She does an amazing job. I love my hair. Just recently, after Cassie had just done my hair, a random stranger walking past me in a parking lot stopped me to tell me that my hair looked beautiful. If that's not proof enough, I don't know what is! Not only is she awesome, but she is now located at a really cool, new urban beauty lounge called Salon Solaras that is so much fun even just to walk through. I don't ever want to go anywhere else for my beauty needs!!! more

Awesome Hair Salon! 1/26/2012

I have been trying to find a good hairstylist for a long time. I have really thick hair that is difficult to cut without it looking awkward. A friend of mine referred me to Raechel Erenwert and she is amazing! My hair looks fantastic everytime I leave. I have grown up in Austin so I love supporting any local Austin business. It is a very relaxed place to go and everyone is really nice. Even if you think you're getting a good haircut now, check out Salon Solaras and it will be better! more

Color me Beautiful 1/26/2012

I've dyed my hair just about every color under the sun...and not with the kindest products either. My sister had a hair intervention with me and said that it needed help and she knew just the right person. Most of the time I'm afraid to go to a salon because they give me a haircut that well..sure it looked nice, but it wasn't ever my style. It would turn out too hipster, too hard to style, or looked bad once it grew out a little. And is it my imagination or are all salon receptionists annoyed with customers trying to give them money? But that was not my experience at SoLaras The cut that Heather gave me is fantastic! It's very user friendly and when she was done I didn't get that I'm-wearing-some-else's-hair feel, it was exactly what I wanted. I get compliments all the time. As for the color, I s**t you not, straight up strangers will ask me where I got my hair colored. After seeing Heather for a while my hair is healthy and is a far cry from the dried grass look I was sporting before. Thank you Heather and Thank you SoLaras! more

I have lived in Austin a couple years and hadn't quite found ""the place"" for my hair...until I was referred to Salon Solaras! The place is brand new and BEAUTIFUL and has so much to offer! I do truly feel blessed to have found a place and a stylist (Heather) who gets me and where I feel so comfortable when I come in. I won't go anywhere else and definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to look and feel great! more
