If you're in the mood for something different..... 11/23/2008

Meal reviewed: Dinner *** Sofram was a pleasant discovery. The food was authentic, although they have a few non-Turkish items on the menu to accomodate diners who do not or cannot eat standard Turkish fare. The food is fairly priced. Certain meals, which happen to be my favorite (doner and iskeda), are only available on weekends. On the Friday evenings that we've been there they have a belly dancer performing. The service was very attentive and a glass of wine that we felt had turned was quickly replaced with a new glass from a freshly opened bottle. Pros: Fairly priced and a good value, authentic food, great service Cons: Reservations recommended on weekends - could get crowded more

Great Turkish food and service! 10/7/2008

My wife and I have lived in Pineville for years. Too bad we just discovered Sofram. We dined on a Friday evening and service was extremely pleasant and helpful. We both had the doner and were pleasantly surprised by the Turkish wines. Definitely ask for and heed the wait staff's advice. We had the best dessert that sounded absolutely horrible from the description (phyllo, pistachio, and I forget what else...), so listen to your waiter's suggestions. All in all, we had a wonderful meal with enough left over for lunch the following day. Pros: Great food, knowledgable wait staff. Cons: Some dishes are only available on weekends. Do your homework. more

great service. try the lamb! 8/12/2008

We tried this restaurant because we were told it was good, and we were not mislead. Pros: Friendly service, nice ambiance, enjoyable meal Cons: location isn't great more

Terrible Menu, Lousy Food 8/9/2008

We tried this restaurant after finding their website. The online menu was a complete misrepresentation of what they actually offer. It listed about 10 things that they did not actually sell. In fact, their menu was extremely small . When the food came it was small portions and bland taste. There were no detectable spices . I would say a cotton ball had more taste. I would not return. Pros: Decent atmosphere Cons: Poor menu, misrepresentation, tasteless food. more

Great Turkish food in Charlotte. Try it you'll like it. 7/27/2008

Some friends invited us to join them for dinner at Sofram Saturday night. Our only regret is that we hadn't found this restaurant sooner. The food was great (I had the Lamb Saute) and a different but wonderful rice pudding dish for dessert. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing. The service was great. I would definitely recommend you try it, we will be back. Pros: Great food, great atmosphere. Cons: Location, would be better placed in walk in type neighborhood. more

Delicious! 12/3/2007

My wife and I dined at Sofram last Friday evening and really enjoyed it. To start with, the ambiance was great. In addition, the owner came over to our table several times and was extremely friendly and helpful. Our meals were absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. I had the doner and my wife had the yogurt kebab. We both really enjoyed the food. Pros: Food, Ambiance, Service more

Authentic and Delicious Turkish Food 3/11/2007

Having lived in Turkey, I can attest that the food at Sofram is definitely authentic and is excellently prepared. They serve some of the most common Turkish dishes and for the most part are very knowledgeable regarding these dishes. Although it's a bit pricey, it is worth it for the quality of the food. If you are lucky, the owner/cook himself will be there, and will stop by your table to chat. Make sure you top off your meal with some baklava and Turkish kahve (coffee) or cay (tea). Afiyet olsun! Pros: Authenticity, Service/Quality, Experience Cons: Price more

Not Turkish at all 12/6/2006

I don't believe that a ceaser salad is a turkish dish and neither is sautted scallops. I think this place is overylly priced and well below a turkish restaurant found in other parts of the country. Pros: nice ambience Cons: not really turkish or Mediterranean food. more

I think you?ve visited some other Restaurant instead of Sofram. Go to Sofram and try to finish full course dinner... if you can manage it, a rich Turkish Coffee is on me! Don?t worry! It wouldn?t cost more than $30 for best appetizer, entree, dessert and drink! That cost would be much less if you go there on Wednesdays... free appetizer night!!! Are you a romantic person? Try Thursday Evening because it?s very romantic. Jeffrey W. Holland and Carl DiPonziano play wonderful ?LIVE JAZZ? and you can get wine (bottle or glass) half off!!! If you?d like to have faster pace night, Fridays are for you?a dancer from Belly Dance Troupe Magic Hips is at Sofram Every Friday evening. This is also kid?s favorite evening. So if you have any, you don?t need a baby sitter? bring them with you! Sofram has special dishes for kids upon request! Sofram also scheduled flutist Jeniffer Dior and harpist Lorraine Carey for Dec 23rd for LIVE CLASICCAL MUSIC ENTERTAINTMENT.Please make a reservation to ensure your spot. Infact, Sofram takes reservations! If you?re willing to read more, you can go to Google and type Sofram Cuisine. You'll see an article about Sofram from food critic Tricia Childress. Click on it... more
