I must say that I am still quite overwhelmed at how much different types of soda this store does carry, but everything I go and buy some soda... the soda tastes like medicine. I probably pick up the gross ones and I don't know why. Also, while you are there, they have the good old candy that you probably have forgotten such as those candy buttons and etc. (To tell you the truth, I don't remember what kind, but I just remember my ecstatic face when I saw them). I know the name doesn't suggest it, but pick up some sandwiches. They are so good. It's probably better than the soda they have. more

Galco's is awesome, especially if you love soda. Seriously, this store has so many rows of different types of sodas that it makes my head spin. In my opinion, prices are pretty reasonable. What I love most about this store is that they don't have popular brands here like Coke. Instead, they have a bunch of "classic" soda pop. more

Galco's is truly a labor of love...it has been in existence for several generations, starting out as an Italian grocery and gradually morphing into the temple of classic (and neo-classic) soda that it is now. The owner John Nese is a constant presence, strolling the aisles offering advice, comparisons, and updates on his continuing efforts to further expand his amazing selection. Look for old favorites like Bubble Up, Cheerwine, and Moxie, among hundreds of others. And definitely plan your visit around lunchtime and enjoy a freshly made sandwich from the deli counter! more

Have you ever wondered about soda pops you used to drink as a kid? I used to inquire as to whether I could find RC in a glass bottle. The solution to most any soda pop search can be found at the Galco Old World Grocery. Tucked away in an unpretentious neighborhood, the grocery store has 2 whole aisles dedicated to soda! You can find almost anything in a glass bottle, and it is so rewarding! I bring home a couple 6-packs every time I go. You see people there checking out every brand, smiling withmemories. The owner is a soda fan himself and goes out of his way to bring in pop from all parts of the country and even other countries. He doesn't charge an arm and a leg, either. Also, grab an awesome deli sandwich to go with those sodas- they aregreat! Well, well worth the drive. more
