Andrea gives a great cut 12/27/2005

I have lived in Menlo Park for 1.5 years and still drive to Albany to get my hair cut by my favorite stylist. No more! I used CitySearch to locate an option closer to home and was thrilled with the results. Mission 6 is an average looking/feeling salon, but the people are very friendly. No hip city snobs. I got an appointment with Andrea because she had an immediate opening, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. She's the most junior stylist there, but did an amazing job. She listened, and she cleared all her recommendations with me as she was cutting. I walked out with a fabulous cut that is ready to wear today and totally reproduce-able on my own. There was no pressure AT ALL to buy products, additional treatments, etc. The best part--it cost $40! Pros: Cheap! $40 for a cut more

Michelle has done wonders for my hair color and I love my new cut! After moving from Boston, I was scared that I couldn't find a colorist/stylist as good, but it turns out Michelle is better! I couldn't be happier and would definitely recommend her to anyone. Pros: atmostphere, talent, location Cons: none! more

Cannot recommend 9/11/2005

I guess they don't keep up with the latest trends and styles. I also had an unhappy color experience. I feel that it's important to tell people about a salon I can't recommend going back to. Awesome Salon! 9/9/2005

I have long, curly red hair and stylists usually prefer to cut it short. Michelle cut it exactly the length I wanted and added more style to it. She did such a wonderful job! This is a new salon, exclusively Bumble and Bumble (which is wonderful) and the atmosphere is very friendly. While the salon is very chic and nice to look at, the stylists are not arrogant and/or pretentious. I will be going back!!! more

Shoji is very talented 9/6/2005

I saw Shoji recently, though I knew him for a long time as a good hairstylist. It was amazing to see how he cut. My hair is now looking very beautiful. WOW! Plus, he guaranteed my hair could keep the style for 2 months and very low maintenance. Everyone in my office loves my hair. Pros: skills more

Amazing Updo's! 7/12/2005

I would just like to say that I had the privilege of having my hair done in an amazing creative updo for the SF Black & White Ball! I was a bit nervous as it is such an important event but thanks to Andrea she did an outstanding job & gave great service. I would recommend this salon for sophisticated, sexy updos for any event. more

Michelle is awesome! 6/8/2005

I just returned from getting a perm from Michelle at Mission 6 Salon and I love it! She spent two and a half hours making sure I got the best perm possible and I did. She always listens to my requests and gives me great feedback on what she thinks will work or not. I never feel like she is rushed to finish and she doesn't book clients on top of eachother. She made my morning relaxing and fun! I highly recommend her! Pros: great parking, relazing atmosphere, stylist who listens more

Michelle - Stylist Extraordinaire! 5/19/2005

Michelle is the best hair stylist I have ever seen. Not only does she give the best haircuts, but her precision color work is amazing. Since Michelle has been styling my hair I have consistently received compliments about my hair. Sometimes total strangers come up to me and ask me where I got my hair done. Michelle consults with me every time I come in asking how I feel about my hair style and if we want to make any changes, this results in a fresh look every time. When I visit Mission 6 I feel welcomed and made comfortable. The salon has a pleasing atmosphere, and it is always easy to find a parking place. They also have great hair products (Bumble & Bumble) but no one pushes you into buying them. Pros: Nice Atmosphere, Clean, Good Parking more

A Hidden Diamond in Palo Alto 4/6/2005

Brenda has been cutting/styling/coloring my hair for almost a decade now and I can't stop raving about her. She is not only a master stylist at the salon but is warm, understands what I want and always delivers! I love how before she starts any service, she always asks what style I am thinking about and we go over what would work for my face and what won't. I always go back to Brenda not only because she's a great stylist but I always leave feeling great about myself and my hair! I enjoy the peaceful and comforting atmosphere of Mission 6 and the great team of stylists! I highly recommend Brenda and Mission 6!! One more thing, her head massages during the hair washing is the most AMAZING experience ever. Those fingers do the most fabulous things to the scalp! It's the most utterly relaxing feeling! Shoji gave me the best short hair cut ever. He has got skills and a great personality. The salon itself is really cool and friendly. No pressure to buy any products. But I bought some and they are great. After this experience, I am not going anywhere else. Shoji better not retire any time soon! more

I LOVE MISSION 6!!! 4/5/2005

Shoji is the best!!! I've had my hair colored/cut by countless stylists for over 15 years. Not often have I found a stylist that is worth following, but Shoji is the best stylist ever. He's incredible as a colorist - I would tell him what I had in mind and my hair would either end up how I had expected or even better. I'm at a point where I leave it up to him to choose my color because he just seems to know what looks best and how to do it well. The salon itself has easy parking. It's clean and spacious. I love the simplicity of the salon. They sell Bumble and Bumble products, which I love and is always hard to find. Just had my hair colored and cut today! Turned out better than I could have imagined. :) Thanks, Shoji!!!!! You're the best!!!!! more

A gem for great style 4/3/2005

I am fairly picky about my hair, but I can totally trust the stylists at Mission 6. They know what I want and what looks best for me. I've recommended Mission 6 to several of my co-workers, and we all keep going back! The staff is extremely friendly and the decor is very charming! i went to mission 6 salon's brenda on a recommendation from a friend. she is detail-oriented, has a great eye, asks lots of questions about what you want, and is altogether just a very kind and fun person to be around. brenda is stylist you can trust! the salon in general is also just so beautiful, clean, and chic, and the other stylists and staff seem to be very happy there. i highly recommend mission 6 salon! more

As a first time customer of Brenda Carlson I was very happy with my cut and highlights. Brenda is a highly skilled stylist and brought out the best of my natural color with subtle yet brightening hightlights. All my friends and coworkers noticed I had my hair done and gave me compliments. Brenda is a pleasant person who has an excellent eye to bring out the best in your style. Parking is right across the street and the salon was easy to find. The salon itself is beautifully furnished with great products. Pros: Good parking, competively priced, pleasant atmosphere more

No one else will ever touch these locks 3/18/2005

I have never been so committed to a salon or stylist in my life. I've always been pretty low maintenance about my hair. But after I had Brenda, I really can't go anywhere else. She is amazing. Her taste and skill (she's a perfectionist!) is unparalleled. And I find her company so relaxing and refreshing. Mission 6 also uses top of the line products, so my color and style feel salon-worthy every day. I just can't say enough. I highly recommend Mission 6! I had no idea my hair could look this good. Brenda has managed to give me the Holy Grail of haircuts: volume and style AND low-maintenance. I never understood it when friends would say, ""No one else could cut my hair but ____."" But now I feel the same way! more
