I had my doubts about salons in San Antonio after a few bad experiences, but this place is one of the best salons I have been to in a long time. Everyone is extremely friendly and relaxing. It's been difficult finding someone who can translate my ideas about hair color into a reality but Kandi was awesome! She mixed the perfect colors for my skin tone, leaving me with fabulous color. This is a great salon! I just got my hair done by Jessica and she is great! She helped me figure out the best cut for my face shape and really worked with me on what I wanted. She also gave me great advice on styling and how to take care of my hair. I would definetly recommend her to any of my friends. It has taken me a very long time to find someone who I like enough to go back to for waxing. Elisa is very good. She not only does exactly what you ask, but she does it in a very quick and precise manner. I highly recommend everyone to go to Elisa; she's awesome! Pros: Nice atmosphere, friendly, and quick! My family and I moved to San Antonio recently and I am very particular about my hair. April was excellent and immediately put me at ease, completing a color, highlights, and cut. I spent most of my life in CA and relocated to San Antonio last year for business. Having had the same stylist for the past 20 years in CA, I dreaded having to find a new stylist. Smooth Lines was recommended to me by a business client and I took a chance and tried them out. I am so glad that I did. The entire staff there is incredible. The stylist I saw was Susana and I was so pleased with the color, cut and style she gave that I have continued to see her on average every 8 weeks. Unfortunately, I was relocated to SC a few months ago and I was forced to have to find a new stylist again. I spent about 4 weeks trying to find a salon that compared to Smooth Lines in SC and still have not found a suitable replacement. Luckily, I travel to San Antonio every couple of months. I saw Susana again a few weeks ago and will continue to use Smooth Lines every chance I get. I highly recommend the salon to anyone who is looking for superior service. more

I can not begin to start on how pleased I am with the service at Smooth Lines Salon. It was my first time there, and it was great. I have to say that I was very very impressed with hairstylist Tessie Carlin. She is an exceptionaly and very talented hairstylist. She has style, beauty and most of all class! Her look is everything of a New York hairstylist! She was very respectable and gave me good advice and I have to admit my hair has never looked better! I cannot say enough about this place, I stumbled on it when I first came to San Antonio and it has been one of my best finds in this city. Normally I would rather pick a new dentist than a hairstylist, but this place changed me. I can sit down in my chair and relax , I actually can enjoy the whole experience. I have to mention Jessica who is personally responsible for my look, I get a lot of compliments on both the colour and the cut. She has a great eye for colour and always gets me the right cut for my face, hairtype, and current trends. I welcome her suggestions and pretty much kick back and let the magic happen. Everybody I have encountered from the front counter to the shampoo bowl is absolutely wonderful top notch and very professional. I can't imagine going anywhere else! To Whom It May Concern: At Smooth Lines Salon, you can't go wrong with any of the stylists. However, I have been overly impressed specifically with hair stylist, Tessie Carlin. Ms. Carlins styling skills are exceptional. Her precision with haircuts is unparalleled. Her keen eye for good style and color makes for dynamite coloring results. Admittedly I have always been nervous while getting my hair done, constantly watching to assure the results I requested. However, Tessie is my first stylist in whose skills I am completely confident. I have always believed that the true judge of a good hair style lies in the compliments received. My friends, family and co-workers have consistently remarked on how nice and flattering my hair is. I hold Ms. Carlin completely responsible for this positive response. Not only has Tessie cut and colored my hair beautifully, but she has also taken time to teach me how to use the styling products she recommends, as well as how to style my own hair. This knowledge I have never received from another stylist, and I greatly appreciate Ms. Carlins patience and willingness to share her knowledge. In addition to Tessies exceptional skills, she is a joy to converse with during my appointments. Her memory is sharp and she recalls names and personal facts I have shared with her. When I was pregnant with my first child and shared my good news with Tessie she smiled warmly, congratulating me with a hug. She offered support through sharing experiential stories and really made me feel special during my visits with her. Overall, I am completely satisfied with Tessie Carlin as my hairdresser. She is talented, precise, kind, warm, friendly, generous, knowledgeable, funny, caring and above all a wonderful woman. I have recommended Tessies services to all those who comment on my hair. I went to a different Salon and left in tears. I saw this lovely salon and the Living Show and felt confident the could fix my hair trauma. I was recommended to the master colorist who changed my orange hair with yellow highlights into a beautiful brown with "honey" highlights which compliments my olive skintone. My cut wasn't great either. But she also cut hair! She switched my mullet into a very classy bob. I love the fact she took care of my all around. The atmosphere was wonderful as well. From the receptionists who were kind and caring, all the way to the sweet assistant girl who asked me occasionally if I needed anything to drink or read. I can promise you, I've finally found my salon. Pros: Everything Cons: None more

I have never been to a salon with so much talent. I have been a client of several of the staff, and each are far better than any other "top" stylist at other salons. I have seen women (and men) walk in looking like my firth grade math teacher (blue eye shadow and a rat's nest on their head) and walk out with a fresh new look (make-up) and a 'do that Jennifer Aniston would be jealous of. My stylists of choice: Xavier (miracle worker), Melanie, Josolyn and Michelle (awesome on short 'dos). Fire your so-so stylist and have a real pro fix 'ya up. You will thank me for the advice! more

iI my opinion, Andrew is one of , if not the most, your most valued employee!!! I am new to this area as a travel nurse and have no idea where to go for salon needs, and Andrew has been so kind and helpful, to say the very least. He advised me regarding locations, etc, and was the most i could possibly ask for. He consulted with your hair stylists to find out what may be right for me. What a lovely guy!! I look forward to being a client soon!!! (As soon as you can work me in!!!) People like Andrew make you want to visit your facility as soon as possible! more

I would just like to say that when it come to a fabulous hair and color that this is the place to go. The lady I had was so nice and gave me all kinds of tips on how to keep up the hairstyle she gave me (Valerie). I think the cost was well worth it, we live in a "you get what you paid for" type of world and I feel it was worth every penny! I will defiantly recommend this salon to many friends, and I cant wait until my next appointment! more

Overall my visit was alright. The main negative aspect was the bill. I got a haircut, manicure, and pedicure. The skill of the staff was good, and I was pleased with what I received, but everything was extremely overpriced. Before I made my appointment I called the salon and asked for their web address. They don't have one. Even SuperCuts has a web site! So if you're willing to drop $50 on a trim, this is your place. I expect some serious pampering and a relaxing atmosphere for that price.
