Happened to travel through Dandridge, TN and a local pointed us towards Smoky's Steak & BBQ on Main Street. This restaurant appears to be the jewel in a very cute little downtown area.
Located in a white, 2-story building, it offers indoor and outdoor seating with an art gallery upstairs. There is also a small gift shop inside the restaurant ala Cracker Barrel.
My companion ordered a half rack of ribs that he had a difficult time finishing, which is very unusual for this man. I had the brisket that I was unable to finish. So large portions and the flavor of the meat was very good: smoky, not too spicy, tender, and not dry.
They had some unusual side dishes. I ordered the Green Tomato Pie. It looks like bread dressing/stuffing and was heavily seasoned with Sage. The green tomatoes added a tartness that was not unwelcome. Tasty and unusual.
They were packed on a Saturday night but the whole staff was bustling and efficient, not to mention very young, male, and cute. There was also one female server who was also working hard and a cutie-pie.
I highly recommend this restaurant if you're ever in the area, you won't regret it!
