It's not the major leagues, but I promise you that your kids won't know the difference. My elderly dad and my ten-year-old niece all love going to Smokies games. It's, of course, a great chance to perhaps catch the next big-leaguer. Of course, baseball is only one of the action. The food is definitely major league! Hot dogs, corn dogs, polish sausage, hamburgers, cotton candy...virtually everything. You can go to the concession stands or, in true major league fashion, wait for the hawkers to bring it to you. Check the local media for promotions. I think Monday night is church bulletin night and they always have one or two church-related events where they might have a contemporary Christian group play after the game. The good promotions, though, are the give aways. Some nights, the first 500 kids through the gate receive a minature bite. Another night, it might be a baseball. It's great fun. They also host parties for youngsters and they're great. The birthday boy or girl gets called out to make the first pitch. What a thrill for a little leaguer! I highly recommend that you make plans to do this with your family at least once this summer. Take your camera.
