As a local resident, I visit the Smokey Pig quite often, and therefore can safely attest that their food is quite delectable, despite the apparent dissent of some. Perhaps this is the result of people from different areas having different tastes, just as they speak in different dialects. However, if the food is truly as awful as they seem to think, then why is it such a popular restaurant? While the ambience isn't romantic by any means, keep in mind that it's a barbeque restaurant, after all, and isn't meant to be elite. The Smokey Pig is a wonderful restaurant for the family and, in many ways, epitomizes the subculture of a semi-rural, close-knit community such as Ashland. Oh, and a hint for the barbeque that's so ""dry""...put the barbeque sauce on it. That's what it's there for, and it adds some flavor too... ;)
