Bad Service 5/1/2005

My husband and I was in Avon last Saturday (4-30-05) and stopped into Smokey Bones to eat dinner. It was our first time eating there. We live in Nineveh Indiana. Our waiter was horrible. We had to ask another waitress to send our waiter over to take our order. Our food was delievered by 2 young ladies and not once did our waiter come back to our table to re-fill our drinks or ask if we needed anything or if we were enjoying our dinner. My husband did talk to the manager about our service and all she did was say "I'm sorry". We will not eat there again. more

This restaurant has the best barbeque that I have ever tasted. My mother, who hates bbq, can not wait to go back. The food was phenomenal, the service impeccable, and the ambience was priceless. Overall it was just amazing! more

overrated 1/20/2004

The best thing about this place is that they have a bank of TV set to different channels and the have recevier boxes that you can tune in the audio to any of the channels. The food was actually barely average (and that's being kind). more

Editorial
  • In Short
Rustic accents like logs, lanterns and fieldstone may adorn the exterior, but inside, it's all about ceiling-mounted TVs for fans who want sports with their spicy food. A large bar with a giant television dominates, while flanking wooden booths come with audio selectors and easy views of nearby screens. Sundry meats are cooked in-house over hickory wood: pulled pork (hand-pulled daily), baby back ribs, barbecued chicken, smoked beef brisket and various combination platters.
