I went in on a Monday while taking a weeks vacation. I looked at a few cars and asked how it worked. I came back on Tuesday and picked an 02 PT cruiser. While I test drove it, the owner (Randy) test drove my car. The PT Cruiser seemed ok and I was offered 1500 trade in on mine. I told him I'd be back the next day with the money for tax and title and to take the cruiser to my mechanic for a look. I never made it to the mechanic. The car died on me half way there. The salesman(Mike) came out to jump start it and I followed him back to the lot. I explained to him that I only had a few days left on my vacation and the hours I work would make it hard for me to get in after the weekend. I told him that I need to get this taken care of this week. He said he would get the car into their shop right away to get it ready for me. Friday came and they hadn't even looked at it. He promised me that it would be ready on Saturday. I called back Saturday around noon and was told it was fixed and that everything was ready but I couldn't get it because they close at 1 on Saturday. I had already wasted my entire week off to take care of this problem and didnt' have the available time to go elsewhere. he asked if I could make arrangements to come in Tuesday. I took an additional day off, only to find that the car is still not fixed and they have decided they dont' want to take the trade at all because it is a convertible and the season has passed. I can understand this but what happened last week when they offered 1500? Did the convertible season pass Sunday afternoon? My experience with Smiths auto in Louisville has been nothing but a waste of time. If you need to test this for yourself, simply ask them to find an answer to some question about a car on their lot and call you back. You will never receive a call. They dont' care about their customers at all. I was sent off for a test drive in a car with a known problem , lied to, and manipulated to keep me from going elsewhere. I'm quite happy that I saw their true colors before I made the purchase.
