This place could have been a good idea BUT it's a Famima wanna be. When you go there, you are greeted by blasting rock music, dirty floors that haven't been mopped in who knows how long, teen age guys who think talking smack to each other in front of the customers is cool " hey fagot ring this customer up" and coffee that has been sitting there "concentrating" for hours. The sandwiches are mediocre--they brag about their stale Amorosa rolls brought in from Jersey which they run several time through a conveyor belt toaster to 'freshen them up". Does the manager/owner have any idea he's running a high school locker room where the workers and their friends hang out playing cards dissing each other while a stupid football game is projected onto a painted wall. Ohhhh really appetizing and female friendly... If someone asked me to describe this place it would be 'high school gym locker room that sells food". Now that's a visual! more

Best deli/convenience store in the South Bay! 3/15/2010

The staff is extremely friendly and is very helpful and welcoming. I highly recommend trying the sandwiches (hot and cold) - I haven't yet tried anything that was less than perfect. Great Red Bull & Monster slushies too. Smartstore is the best ! Pros: Great food, great drinks, great service, great prices more

Best Hoagies in SoCal !!! 3/11/2010

I just moved into the area and stumbled upon this interesting store, what a great concept! Love the items they carry,so far, all of the food items they have on the menu have been great.(i wonder who their chef is!) great salads, and the best hoagie I've had in Cali. Today I tried the delivery service,super user friendly website and after I placed my order,it arrived really fast with a super friendly delivery guy! I will be ordering many more items,I think they even deliver wine! Yum Yum Pros: great delivery service Cons: none that I've found more

Great to have a modern convenience store in the neighborhood. Highly recommend trying out the deli and stopping in for breakfast on your way into work. Good stuff and very family friendly. Pros: Great food, very clean Cons: ? more

Delish Coffees & Teas 2/22/2010

Next time I will come hungry, but for now I'm craving more of their Smartcoffee and they have delish teas you can drink there or take home. Great style; it's like the Apple Genius Bar of convenience stores! Pros: MB Blend & Mandarin Silk Tea more

Darn Good Cup of Joe 2/16/2010

It's not often that a new independent coffee shop will have their espresso drinks down upon opening. I checked out the smartstore on Sunday, and got a vanilla soy latte. It was awesome. Their espresso is rich and fresh! The barista was super nice and asked me if I wanted to sample some of their new smoothie blends. I had a shot of their redbull smoothie. INCREDIBLE.
