Not too impressed... high prices, sub-standard living 12/26/2008

I 100% agree with the last review. The noise at this complex is pretty horrid. I'm only 25 years old, so I have complete understanding/patience for people wanting to ""let loose"" and enjoy themselves. However in my case, my trashy (and im not overexaggerating) neighbors like to ""let loose"" multiple times a week. My roomate and I have called the courtesy police many times. Although they do show up, nothing has been done. I appreciate that Slate Creek has hired people who will come when called, but the people they have hired are maybe 20-year old guys who weigh 150lbs. Again, in my case, if I were that 150lb guy, I would not want to confront a drunk/coked out Brett Michaels wannabe either.\r In the lease, there is a noise violation section... and if my memory serves me right, all tenants have to read and sign off on it. Yet, this is the noisiest place I have ever lived.\r Another downfall is mold. I personally know 3 people (Ive only lived here 3.5 months) that have had to move out of their apartement due to mold. Although it is hearsay, I have heard of many more. Slate Creek covers up mold by putting a fresh coat of paint over it, and lets somebody move in, hoping the mold will not show through the fresh paint.\r The apartements are definately decent looking and have pretty good space. But for as much as you pay to live here, you should be able to sleep peacefully. I would only recommend this place to people who work night jobs and are up late nights. Pros: Location...Very close drive to everything Cons: Noise, mold, leasing office more

Check the Roseville police department for call frequency and types 11/5/2008

Check with the Roseville police department before moving in to Slate Creek Apartments. The complex gets a lot of calls for noise, parties, domestic disturbances, fights, etc. I believe that my downstairs neighbors regularly smoked meth. The complex has a high vacancy rate so they seem to do nothing to manage problem tennants. In their desperation to bring in more money, the complex allows small dogs, guaranteeing that there will be several yapping above, below or beside your apartment day and night. My neighbor kept a pitbull, and sometimes had it off leash (it almost attacked my children late one night). I watched a car get stolen (the Roseville police took their time arriving and did not want to report the event to other agencies, assuming it was probably a repossession until the owner noticed the vehicle missing and contacted them).\r \r The complex does retain a security firm that supposedly passes through periodically at night, but I sometimes had to call them twice on the same night to speak to the same neighbors, then still had to call the Roseville police.\r \r The complex's contract is downright predatory. When you discover the drawbacks and safety issues you'll be very sorry that you're locked into a long term lease with a massive cancellation penalty. You'll be very reluctant to renew, but if it takes you some time after the end of your lease term to find a place to move to, you'll be paying a dramatically inflated month to month rent. Holland America will not accept responsibility for failing to enforce their lease terms regarding noise and safety on the other residents or consider the long lease period that you've already been there when setting the month to month rent price.\r \r All in all, it's simply not a situation that you'll want to put yourself into. Pros: Grounds look pleasant Cons: Safety, noise, lease terms, unresponsive management, high police calls more
