as we waited an hour and a 1/2 just for our fried chicken (which by the way he tried to take credit for Fontaines' success) we watched in horror as the owner threw food into the kitchen at the cooks, sat and drank, treated staff HORRIBLY for HIS shortcomings, and threw guests out or insulted them when they complained to him. half of what was on the menu was not available on the beautiful summer day. i went up to talk to him about how badly he looked at his behavior, and he told me that if i think i could do a better job, get my butt (not the word he used!) in the kitchen and DO IT! this is how he treats paying customers. i watched him do this to several other guests. that is COMPLETLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE-we pay HIS salary!!
i am appalled at being insulted, after we waited (not OUR fault!) and will NEVER return-which he actually told us NOT to, like there was any choice on HIS part! neither will all the friends of ours who have gone there with the same results.
in this poor economy, ppl should be greatful that guests are still coming out to spend money in their establishment. and this is only the BEGINNING of the seasonl. obviously, he doesn't care about running this DUMP into the ground. you can tell he does not care about anything but HIMSELF. what a shame, this is a beautiful goldmine of a location, i hope next season something else takes it's place, it's sad that ppl visiting from out of state who go here will leave with a bad taste in their mouth of Marina Bay.
