Ski Renter Of Mountain Vi

Two brother's own this shop, both love skiing and are very knowledgeable and very nice people. (They have a couple avid boarders tha work there as well) When my girlfriend couldn't come in for fitting they gave me 2 pair of boots to make sure they fit, and they did great edge work and wax on the board i own. They keep records of all sizes, so a phone call is all you need and your stuff is ready. All my friends rent here. Regarding critical posts from this guy "olggie", they are not closed, they moved and are now near REI. It is a lot cheaper to rent here than on the mountain, plus you won't waste time at the hill, and you get "real" equipment instead of the garbage resorts rent. more

This is kind of weird that this ski rental shop is in Mountain View, Not anywhere near the snow. I rented here once, but I really realized that it was completely pointless. I rented for 2 days and it was $40 for the snowboard package and $38 for the skier package. But then I went to Tahoe and the prices were actually pretty close to this up there as well, maybe just $7 bucks cheaper. So I ended up having to carry the stuff back and forth. And I didnt save any money anyways because I got back into the city too late on my return date so the next day they made me pay an extra $20. They had everything, and everythiung was fine, but Im not coming back. There is no point. UPDATE! I just drove by it yesterday and I think this store might have closed! more

Ski Renter is a small ski rental and tuning store on El Camino Real in Mountain View. It's a phenomenal place to get your skis tuned--I brought a pair in and they sharpened, it, tested it, waxed it, and checked to make sure the bindings were perfect all for about $30. They're super professional and highly knowledgable. They also rent skis and snowboards rather inexpensively. You can get a pair of skis for about $10 per day and a snowobard for about $12 per day (2004-05 season). Note that ski resorts charge about $30 per day to rent so you get a great deal from the Ski Renter. Ski Renter is especially convienient if you live in the Mountain View, Los Altos, or Palo Alto area and you're looking not to pay a lot to turn your skis or to rent a pair for the slopes. more
