Best

my friends and i had a cut out day from work and we wanted to spend it old school- at Magic Mountain like in highschool. What a super fun day!\r We rode all the rides, ate the y...

Worst

Frankly, all I can give stars to would be the rides. The rollar coasters are built for speed and fun and, if you like thrill rides, this is the place. \r \r However, this...

Mixed 8/24/2006

As Magic Mountain's list of attractions expands, its aesthetic quality seems to decline. It's an inverse relationship that troubles me. As a rollercoaster enthusiast, I love going here, but as a human being with a sensitivity toward to the unkempt, I hate going here. Someone needs to reinvigorate this place. more

Old park in need of renovation 8/20/2006

The park is really run down. Haven't been here in 20 yrs and the bathrooms are old, faucets are the turn handle kind, push handle toilets when other places are using sensor lights. Dining options are expensive, poor quality food and facilities are old. A corn dog and fries (no drink) cost over $8! For the price, the food value is better at Disneyland! I sat at an indoor table where with 4 eateries and no one wiped the dirty tables for over 45 mins, unlike at Disneyland. The park is full of teens working a summer job and don't care about their work. However, it is a great place for teens who love roller coaster rides. I got nauseated riding ""Ninja"", but these rides are not my cup of tea. The water rides really get you wet, you're wet for hours until the heat dries you off! ""Tansu"" was an outrageous 3 hrs wait from start to finish. They need to update and ""Fast Pass"" their rides. Rumors are that Magic Mtn is looking for a buyer. That can only translate to mean financial difficulties. Parking will cost you $15/day and if you don't arrive early, it's hard to find a parking space. The walk from the parking lot to park is quite a distance and the tram doesn't run very often. Pros: Roller coaster rides that attract teenagers Cons: Run down facilities, especially bathrooms. Not a very clean park, expensive food more

Something for Everyone 7/14/2006

This is my favorite park so far. They are always adding new attractions for the thrill seeker yet there is a nice assorment of rides for the kids as well. With a rollercoaster park and water park right next to each other you can buy discount passes for both and get coupon books that make it really afforable for an entire family. When I get done I feel like I lived in a fantasy for a day. Pros: New Rides, Old Rides, Rides for kids and adults Cons: Not enough bathrooms more

Best Theme Park! 1/28/2006

This is the best theme park. There's a lot of rides to go on. And for those of you who like milder rides they have a whole section of the park with rides and they even have a different section for little kids too! The rides I recommed you to go on are X, Deja Vu, and Goliath. They do have height restrictions most of which are 53"". Be sure to wear shoes and not flip flops (I had a bad incident in which they came off while on a roller coaster) and bring spare clothes (they have lockers to store belongings in) becuase some of the rides get you extremely wet. Pros: Great Rides, Parking, Lockers Cons: Long Lines, Expensive Food more

The Magic is At the Mountain: Six Flags 11/16/2004

Magic Mountain is a definitely geared to satisfy the real roller coaster enthusiast. With so many coasters to choose, the thrills never stop. X is one of a kind. The individual seats spiral as you speed up and down unexpected curves and twists. You have not rode a coaster until you have experienced Goliath. Wear comfortable shoes. Enjoy the California weather. Have fun, we sure did! Pros: weather , Open almost annually more

loads of g-rated fun 5/3/2004

*sigh* still can't get enough of this place. love it to bits. will happily spend an entire day doing nothing by riding ""X"". :o) Pros: best rides, funnel cakes Cons: , long lines more

Big Fast & Furious 3/31/2003

I like a ride that rawks; that is engineered for speed, thrills and safety. All of Magic Mountain's coasters are- and do just that! Of course, if your endorphine aren't high just from looking at the rides, then you probably won't like many great theme parks. Another great park to go to is Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, for all you coaster enthusiasts- young and old. Pros: thrill coasters, location, atmosphere Cons: poor sanitation, can get crowded, hot climate more

Lots of fun! 3/30/2003

There are so many incredible rides, and they keep adding on everyday. It's one of my favorite amusement parks of all time. If you're a thrill seeker, I have to suggest it to you. Pros: FUN, exciting, nice area Cons: crowded, expensive more

The Bomb 2/2/2003

This is the best theme park in Southern California. If your willing to take excitment to the next level this is for you, but if your scary this isn't the place for you. more

Great fun! 11/1/2002

Whether you have children or not, this is a great place to shake off the adult expectations of every day living and scream a little while more

NEVER ENDING EXCITEMENT! 8/21/2002

Thrills? This is the BEST place you could EVER go for thrills! I hear from many others that we have the BEST 6 flags yet! There are TONS of thrills, great games with HUGE prizes you could win (of course the ones with the HUGE dolls are the hardest ones right?), water rides, arcades and so much more! you MUST have Funnel cake before you leave, it's something almost everyone I know stops for. It's so good!! If you want a good thrill, this is the place! It sometimes has terribly long lines, but hey, the thrill is worth the wait, especially the pictures on the rides! I've been going there almost twice every year and still love it! Pros: BEST THRILLS Cons: LONG LINES more

OH MY GOSH!!! 8/15/2002

Magic Mountain is crazy. There are so many rides that do so many different things. You'll see things that you didn't think could possibly exist. If you have a weak stomach AT ALL choose your rides carefully. The lines can get ridiculously long, so the best times to go are on the off season. I make sure to go in the spring time and the longest I've even waited was 15 minutes. But I've had friends who have gone during peak times and waited hours to get on a ride. If you like roller coasters it's definitely worth it. You'll spend the whole day with an adrenaline rush! Pros: awesome roller coaste Cons: lines can be long more

This place rocks 8/8/2002

I love the rides here. Best I have ever been on. Especially DeJaVu more

White knuckles and Mega-thrills. 8/8/2002

If you're like me and are after the thrills, this is the place to go! Not a tame, mild environment for kiddies like some of the other amusement parks but an all out hold on to your hats thrilling experience. All I can say is, if you're after visuals and scenery, go to Disneyland or Universal but if you're after the breathtaking thrillsof roller coasters, twisting and turning, right side up or upside down, go to Magic Mountain. Pros: Thrilling rides, Many rides, Most Roller Coasters Cons: Food too expensive, Lines mostly too long, Weekends Crowded more

Not for those with health issues 7/26/2002

Amusement Parks have always been attractive to young people. Unfortunantly they have the most to loose should they get injured. Young athletes getting bounced around on a ride take a risk of injury to their muscles and joints, not to mention the possible damge to the brains. Doctors have been advising people against these rides for years but to no avail. So ride the rides at your own risks! There is a nice grassy spot on the outside of the park, in the parking lot. Take your RV so that you have a place to go and rejuvenate before heading back into the park. more

Mega Mountain 7/25/2002

Referred to as Mega Mountain in the movie Encino Man, Magic has the quality and quantity of roller coasters to rival the best parks in the US. Too bad the new ride has been closed for repairs. Their fall/spring hours are also a bit erratic (they might be open on weekends only at certain times of year). Be sure to call ahead before driving out in spring/fall. Yes, it's pricy but so is any good theme park. Pros: Great coasters Cons: Long lines more

A fun place 7/23/2002

it's a fun place to go, mostly if you are a thrill seaker, having the best rides in southern california, such as Deja Vu, X, Riddler's Revenge, Batman, Superman, Goliath, etc........... more

Thrill Seekers Unite! 7/16/2002

If you want big, scary rides, this is your place! I would not recommend this park for people with small children at all. The lines get really, really long during the summer and it can get to be a scorcher. If you cannot take the heat or wait, you will not have fun. This is definitely a park not for the faint of heart! Come with the expectation of getting on huge rides, waiting in long lines, and definitely bring some comfortable shoes for all those hills you have to walk up! Pros: Thrilling Rides, Worth Price of Entry Cons: Very Long Lines, Very Hot, Not For Small Kids more

Excellent Park 7/5/2002

Awesome rides and excellent service all around. Lines could be shorter though and prices a bit lower. Pros: Rides, Parking, Food Cons: Crowded, Long Lines, Prices more

Good times, but long lines 7/3/2002

You gotta get here early, or on a weekday when the place won't be completely overrun. Even then, you might have to wait almost an hour for one of the premium attractions. Rides that were worth the wait: Goliath and the Riddler. I thought the Superman ride--the one that zooms out forward and then jets straight up into the air--was overrated. more
