Best

This is one of the biggest theme parks in the Midwest. It has over a 100 rides and intense roller coaster rides. The iron wolf and American eagle are some of the more popular thri...

Worst

No, not really. I have never been a big fan of thrill rides. Even the most tame roller coaster tends to make me very ill. So, when I used to go when I was younger I was the guy...

good coasters 8/18/2005

I've only been to this Six Flags once, but the roller coasters were excellent. There isn't much to the place other than rides, but there are a lot of them and they're all good. Raging Bull was a lot of fun; so was the ride where they drop you and you free fall for a few hundred feet. If you're a thrill-seeker, you can't go wrong here. more

Summer Theme Park 8/17/2005

Great America is a fun place to go to. The lines get very long and it gets crowded but it's a great acitivity for the family. They recently opened up a water park as well. The ticket prices seem to be going up so look for discount coke cans. They are also hopen in the fall which is nice. more

Great Time 8/17/2005

Six Flags Great American in Gurnee is a great place to go if you are looking to get away for a day of fun. It has several roller coasters including the Superman, Batman and the Raging Bull! Also enjoy many of the great eateries and games booths. I would make sure you go during the week because there tends not to be as many people because on the weekend you can guarantee you will be in line for over an hour. more

Nice park, good rollercoasters 8/17/2005

Six Flags is your typical amusement park with roller coasters, a few shows, lots of shopping and food. I would reccomend Superman and Batman rides if the lines aren't too long. They have those passes that allow you to skip ahead but they are extra, but in my mind well worth it. Six Flags Great America just openned a new water park called Hurricane Harbor. I would reccomend trying to eat outside the park as this will save you a lot of money. Also, watch for coupons at local restaurants and on pop cans, you can easily save $10. more

Excellent Amusement Park 8/9/2005

I have been going to this amusement park for years and i still do not get tired of it. If you happen to be in chicago and am looking for an amusement park to go to, check out Great America. Go there on a nice hot day and take advantage of their their included water park. They have fabulous rides such as Superman, Batman, Raging Bull, and the Giant Drop. Not to mention their classics such as the American Eagle and Daredevil. They also have a youger kids section for your little ones to play and meet Bugs Bunny. Be sure to buy your tickets online or at Dominicks for a discount. Or bring in a coke can for $7 off admission. Admission did go up this year and is kinda expensive now being over $40 plus parking fee. more

Fun Fun Fun 7/25/2005

This is a great place to enjoy a day of fun and adventure! They have some really fantastic rides here. There's something for everyone here -- from rollercoasters for the thrill-seekers to a ferris wheel for people who enjoy relaxing rides. And this summer they have opened up a new waterpark, which includes lots of water slides and a wave pool. Addmission is a bit expensive, but Great America has many coupons at gas stations and grocery stores for lots of savings. It's definitely a place you don't want to miss and a place you'll want to visit again and again during the summer! more

Hot? Get Wet!! 7/25/2005

The new water park opened May 28th 2005!! It is FANTASTIC!!! And the best part? It's FREE with admission. Great family fun! Coke products only. Warner Brother cartoon characters. Lots of roller coasters. Fun rides for the wee ones. Excellent treatment and priveledges for the handicapped. They have oodles of roller coasters...from the new fangled ones that go way TOO fast to the old style ones that go clickity clack! Water fountains are very sparse. You are however allowed to bring in ONE bottle of water per person. Pack a lunch and eat outside tailgate style, or dine in the park. Their chicken dinners are terrific. more

A day of fun 7/18/2005

I always enjoy going to Great America. They have several roller coasters and other rides that are fit for everyone. They also have a big theater in which they play short films throughout the day. You can also go to their new water theme park, Hurricane Harbor using the same ticket you purchased to get into the amusement park, that right there is a great deal. more

They added a full size water park!! 6/30/2005

There are lots of good things to say about Six Flags Great America. They are a first rate Amusement Park that this year added a full size water park for no additional entry price. So, you get 2 parks for the price of one. They have 10+ rollercoasters and all the usual attractions that bring people to amusement parks. They also provide lots of jobs to the people in the area. My first job ever when I was 15 was at Great America. There aren't many companies willing and ready to hire 15 year olds, but Great America is. They are used to the legal restrictions that come with 15 year old employees and accomodate them. They are also a great emplyment option for college students that want to work summers only and senior citizens tha want something part time. more

Lots of Fun 6/18/2005

This is an awesome theme park. They have recently added a water park to it too to make it an even more enjoyable place to be. Addmission is around $45 dollars per person, but the price is well worth the day spent inside the park. There is something for everyone in this park -- a special park for little kids, a train ride through the park, plenty of roller coasters, and much more! more
