Sitwell's Coffee House

I have lived in the "Gas-Light" area for several years (long enough to remember shaking Carlos Santana's hand in 19-od-8 at The Garage). So, based upon my "trips around the block," I feel I have earned "a place at the table" with my opinions regarding my community. Lisa S. (the owner), without question, is tearing this/our neighborhood in 2 with her unreasonable business practices and (for less than a better word) lunatic behavior. She's mad. Period. Because she is boisterous, loud, mean, degrading, unreasonable, and a drunk. I have witness (during several of my "Let's give Sitwell's another chance" visits) Lisa degrade customers, her staff members, and passersby on foot-for NO apparent reason. I have also witnessed Lisa drink excessive amounts of alcohol as she watches "the talent" play all night then proceed to get into her car and drive off....I've seen this lady do a lot of reckless, absurd, cruel, rude, lude, and dangerous things over the decade (plus) of time she's operated her establishment Finally, her (continuous gripe) behavior between La Poste (a business that operates at a complete 180 degree opposite direction) and her is even more insane...Witnessing a local store owner (let alone member of the community) degrade anyone (for any reason) in front of their business as children have ice cream with their parent outside of Grater's is beyond a disregard for OUR community!! Lisa, your hippie hang out caters to a non-violent, easy going, chill-relaxed environment for everyone to hang out and get along...how come you, the owner, are the only one against that idea of a happy and (for lack of a better word) "normal" community!? P.S., Nice rat droppings outside your delivery door! Also, her hippie hang out is filthy, has poor service, and is VERY over priced. Overall, Lisa, get off our block! more

I have been going to Sitwell's for years. It's not for the coffee or the food, both of which are pretty average. I like the atmosphere. Especially in the evening. If you are a smoker who also loves coffee...look no further in the evenings. There are a few computers around, books aplenty. Staff is very friendly, especially if you are a regular. more

If trendy coffee shops are your thing then you have found your home in Cincinnati. By day Sitwell’s is a great place for a light lunch, a delicious smoothie, or a cup of coffee. By night Sitwell’s becomes the perfect place to grap a cup of jo, light up a cigarette, and take in some live music. Not your average coffee shop, you might only want to venture here if you’re into discussing local politics, hanging out with the college kids, and filling your lungs with smoke. more
