I recently shopped for a mattress. I checked ads and went to a couple of stores in my neighborhood. I actually avoided Sit N Sleep because I was sure it would be like any other furniture store, filled with hovering hawk-like sales people waiting for their commission. I was wrong. I am not exaggerating when I say I was in and out in ten minutes. I walked through the door and was met by a sales person. I explained what I was looking for. He walked me straight to the bed that met my criteria. He then showed me two other offerings that met the criteria. To his credit, the first item was the middle-priced one. And he admitted he wasn?t sure that the one that was $30 more expensive felt more expensive. Lastly, he showed me the lowest price one but was upfront that it was inferior and it definitely was. I asked how much delivery was and he said it was free (the purchase was under $300!). In the end, I selected the higher priced piece; I could tell a difference. That whole process took under 3 minutes. Seriously. Next we go to his desk and he asks if I need a mattress pad. Uh-oh, here come the upsells. But no. He off the bat tells me the (exorbitant) price, expecting the ?no? response he got. I got a bed frame for $20. That whole process, including payment and setting up delivery within a couple of days took maybe 5 minutes. It was a great, great experience.
Pros: Easy In & Out, Good Selection, Good Price Range
