I had done some damage to my left inner ear after a week of scuba diving below the arctic ice in northern Alaska. I immediately got in to the Silberstein Institute upon my return and found Dr. Wazen very personable and an outstanding physician. I would not only recommend Dr. Wazen, but the Silverstein Institute as the entire facility provided an outstanding service. more

Dr. Wazen has been my doctor for 6 years..I don't understand some of these reviews because I find him very thorough and extremely caring. He is very knowledgeable and makes you feel at ease. I would definitely recommend him. more

The uncaring attitude displayed come through start to finish, in very detail. Will not take the time to explain anything unless you question him. Long waits, rude staff, and even denies he says thing aftre he clearly did. Avoid this guy at all costs. If he can't handle the surgery, or his surgery fails, he will send you 80 miles away to USF ENT in Tampa. Apparently, he had a falling out at Florida Ear and Sinus a few years ago and would selfishly rather send his old patients 80 miles away for inferior treatment at a hack university medical school than to highly experienced doctors at Florida Ear and Sinus which is right in downtown Sarasota. USF butchered my ear and 7 months later I ended up having Dr. Silverstein at Florida Ear and Sinus remove a huge (mega) cholesteatoma that the USF ENT either caused or missed per my educated opinion. If I would have known what I know now, I would have gone right to Dr Silverstein at the beginning. I only write here so that other's might learn vicariously through my experience. 100% my own experience and opinion. This dr has no bedside manner whatsoever. It is impossible to call and reach him and when messages are left for him to call back, his secretary or nurse calls you. Not proactive in getting test results or calling patients with those results. Cons: poor communication, not personable, poor customer service more
