Started the New Years in the hot tub with some new friends I met there. It was sooo much fun! Champagne flowed and we talked for hours like the best of friends, which we were when we finally quit at midnight. It was chilly there and not many people around but it was beautiful. What a great memory, smiling thinking about it even now, two weeks later. more

I love going there during off season and just hanging out. It is so quiet, I can actually get in touch with my thoughts. All the problems back home seem so small and they get harder to focus on the longer I stay there. If you want to clear your head, this is a great place to do it. more

My friends invited me to join them at the ranch for a weekend away. I didn't know what to expect and as we drove out there it had me wondering what could be so far away. Turned out it was a great place to hang out for the weekend. What fun! We became owners that Sunday and have been enjoying it many times a year, going on three years now. more

Just spent my first weekend at Silver Saddle Ranch and wanted to share my experience. It was surprisingly enjoyable. I wasn't expecting much as we drove out into the desert. and drove...and drove... but then...a really nice ranch style resort appeared. Green grass, trees, ponds, streams...you almost forgot about the sagebrush a hundred yards away. The resort had loads of activities to keep the kids occupied and a nice lounge for us to relax in after dinner. My only gripe was that the rooms were essentially hotel rooms and not as large as I would have liked. On the other hand, we spent almost no time in the room except to sleep so it wasn't a problem, just wish they had all been suites.\r On the PLUS side:\r Activities, Pool, Hot Tub, Bar, Horses, beautiful grounds.\r On the NEG side:\r Meat and Potatoes type menu not designed for healthy eating, limited wine list, size of rooms. more

Allow ATVs only in parts of ranch but easy access to loads of desert trails. Call them for details and permission first is my suggestion, took us awhile to get things sorted out with the rules when we showed up. fine after that but would have been easier if we had known the rules going in. more

If you have a favorite wine or beer bring it along as their selection is somewhat limited. Town is a drive away so plan ahead. The resort is a lot of fun though...definetly plan to relax. more

If you want some peace and quiet try and book a bungalow, they are quieter than the hotel, where all the kids are. more

Although it is akin to a desert oasis they don't have a gas station there so get gas in California City first. more
