Stay away. poor nursing care for those patients who cannot advocate for themselves more

I feel for the patients whom families abandoned them. 1/16/2011

This patient's situation is close to my own mother. She was admitted for rehab 2 times last year. At first they seem to care until the staff gets used to the family, than the patients status decline very shortly. My mother has developed skin issues, depression, respiratory issues and was left unattended. that's all i will say for now. I'm very disappointed in this facility and the staff, further more, my mother will not see that place again. ""very foul odors through the hallways"" Stay far away! more

Stay Away ! 7/8/2010

My mother was here for several weeks. It was a nightmare. She is incontinent & since the nursing staff didn't change her regularly she ended up with skin breakdown. The rehab staff were polite but could not answer simple questions & were poor quality people. I had transferred my mother here because a friend recommended it . Fortunately I was able to bring my mother home & then place her in a much better facility. She now has no skin breakdown, and is receiving proper rehab therapy and nursing care. I agree with Donnafi and LizzieB730. Stay away! Run! Pros: Location is ok Cons: Staff, cleanliness, patient care more

A difficult decision 2/7/2009

It was a very difficult decision to place my mother in a nursing home. I went with a chip on my shoulder and many many questions. I met with the admissions /social service staff and toured the bulidng- it was clean and no smell. I saw residents participating in activities both in the main activities room and on the individual floors. I visited the rehab gym and saw many residents of different ages participating and even playing tennis on a Wii. The staff answered my questions including those related to finances. I chose this facility. Its been 3 months and I made the right decision. My mother has dementia I find her clean at activities and all my many questions are answered by the staff. Its still a difficult decision. Pros: Professionaliam of all staff Cons: parking more

Excellent Care at Silver Lake 1/2/2009

My mother received excellent care for the many years she was at Silver Lake. Nursing staff and administration were compassionate and understanding. Rehab staff were knowledgeable and efficient. I currently visited another resident at SL and found flat screen cable TV's being placed in every room. Nice touch. Pros: Department directors are pleased to meet with you. Recreation activities are great. more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - RUN 2/6/2008

Place is filthy, nurses are nasty and change doses and meds without doctors knowledge. Patients are left and not cleaned. Medical care is extremely poor. Charge medicare/medicaid when treatment has not been rendered. THE MOST HORRIBLE PLACE TO LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONE. Administration is horrible. No modern equipment, not a sterile environment at all. Cloth diapers. Unless you can be there 24/7 you will have a problem. Cons: They should be shut down!!!! Check their record more

Avoid the Rehab Staff 9/3/2007

Certain rehab staff -OTA- demonstrates illogical thought process, irrational behavior and poor documentation. This impacts quality of care. more
