Silver Dog Bed & Biscuit

LIterally! I had terrible experiences with kennels for my first two dogs until I found Silver Dog. After those dogs passed, I continued to use Silver Dog, even with the new puppies and they love it. They literally drag me to the door to get inside when they realize where they're going. Also, the groomers are the best ones in the Twin Cities. They keep the dogs super busy, on a regular routine, so when they come home they're exhausted and relaxed. May not have all the bells and whistles like a pool and webcam, but these people know what they're doing! more

I agree with the other reviewer that it can be expensive if you go on a longer trip...but I don't think anyplace else is all that much cheaper. I have been placing my monstorous dog here for a number of years now when I have to leave town on business, and he is always happy to go. I tried another, brand new facility closer to where I live once and only once. He came home totally hoarse as they left him by himself, sitting in the pen. Never again. Silver Dog staff actually interact with your pet and give them lotsa lovin'. My dog is always happy to see everyone here, and he is always worn out and tired from all the playing once he comes home. Well worth the money to me, as I am always happy when I leave knowing my dog is happy, too. more

This kennel has spacious cells for the dogs (not small cages). They offer tours and have beds for each dog. They let the dogs outside to play 4 times a day in a fenced yard, and you can also pay extra for one on one playtime each day. They offer grooming as well, which I find convenient. \r \r This kennel is cost prohibitive for me for a longer vacation, but for shorter trips I feel confident my dogs are getting the exercise and attention they need. more
