I will be posting this on a number of review web sites...
I visited Silver Apple Med Spa after purchasing a set of laser hair removal treatments for my bikini area on a popular deal site for $99. I've been to a few other places as I laser my entire body.
The man at the desk was pleasant. I could hear a women's voice in the background speaking loudly, Dr. Johnson. I actually dont even know if she is a real doctor but they referred to her as 'doctor'. There were no credentials, affiliations or diplomas shown anywhere in the office (this info is not even on the web site). Both of them spent the entire time I was in the waiting room taking personal calls.
The ""doctor"" took me back to a small room with shower curtains for privacy. She told me that for my bikini line she would only be doing an area the ""size of two fingers"". What?!?! This would have been nice of you to mention on the web site where I purchased the deal. I didnt expect my full vaginal area to be laser'ed but I expected the entire area on the sides of my underwear to be done.. AKA bikini line! I know some people are harrier than others, so shouldn't the size completed depend on the person? How can she just place a general ""two fingers"" size on all? I wish they would have written this on the deal. If I would have known the tiny area she would do, I would not have purchased it.
So I let her proceed to see the area which she would actually do, hoping she would see how much hair I have and be flexible. She literally did a total of about ten zaps on each side of my undies. Just two tiny rows, 5 zaps one way, 5 zaps going the other way next to it. This wasnt even close to the two finger area she stated. She did not even pay attention to where my actual hair was, where it was needed. The total area she zapped was about 1 square in on each side in total. She also puts the laser on the lowest possible setting - so no pain but it also hardly does anything (the higher the laser setting, the more effective per treatment).
The best experience I've had with laser hair removal is a place close by to SAMS - also purchased on the same deal site. I had different body part done here. Not a fancy place. A young girl tech does the treatments. They were great in ""giving your moneys worth"". They let your actual hairlines guide them for the treatment area, didn't stop just because they had done a certain number of zaps. Again, I am harrier than most girls and they took their time, made sure to get every inch of my area, even went over it twice. After that she even goes back and zaps strays. It really makes me appreciate this place I've been going to already. Sure, I may need less treatments because they zap more hair during each treatment. But they have earned a loyal customer. They also adjust the laser setting higher according to your pain tolerance. She would stop after a few zaps and ask you if she could raise it up - again, the higher the setting the more effective the treatment. It was so great that hairs would actually be expelled DURING the treatment. SAMS used the lowest possible level.
Now that all of my treatments from SAMS have been completed, I have noticed zero difference with my hair growth. It's the same as pre-treatment. I know that all place have different lasers but my results with the other places I've been has been astonishing. I wish I could say the same for SAMS. I feel like I just threw away $99. They did nothing for me and I feel it is because of the lack of personalization and doing the smallest treatment area one could imagine on the lowest setting.
Seems like their ultimate goal is just to make money. They really have no care about patient satisfaction whatsoever. They do well below the minimum.
