I loved working with Maureen. She is so nice, and apparently has won a lot awards. I felt like she really "got" my vision of what I wanted for flowers. And, she charged about a third of what the other florists I interviewed were charging. But, when I arrived at the hotel to get dressed, I went up to the ballroom and all the flowers were WRONG! My wedding colors were whites and pinks, and these flowers were purples, oranges, and reds! I called Maureen and she said that I had asked for "Mixed flowers and mixed colors". I never would have said mixed colors. This was my worst nightmare....that she would understand my vision when I was right there in front of her, but when it came time to actually design the flowers, she would just read her paper and not remember me, or my vision at all. (I never received a copy of the paper she wrote as I told her my ideas) The arrangements were also much smaller, and much less.....ummm....just less, than I thought they would be. (Just a few flowers, mostly greenery just stuck in vases). Maureen and her staff came back to the hotel and changed out the flowers with white and pink ones. I cannot thank Maureen enough for that. I seriously did not expect that at all. I thought she would just say oh well, oops, sorry. But they went out, bought MORE flowers and came to the hotel and fixed them. They were still smaller than I thought they would be, but they were the right colors. I was disappointed with the bouquets also. The BM's bouquets looked wilted, and my bouquet looked like it had gotten "sick". The roses and stephanotis had little brown dots all over them, like they had gotten some kind of flower disease. You couldn't tell from a few feet away, but I could tell. I really liked Maureen as a person, and I know she is capable of doing amazing work. If you booked with her, make SURE that you get EVERYthing in writing, do a trial run, and be very specific.
