Took my vehicle to Sierra Transmission to overhaul a 4WD transfer case. They fixed the leaking case but said everything else was fine. When I drove it after the repair, it made loud banging sounds. Took it back and the owner claimed this was normal when using 4WD on dry pavement. A few months later when I needed 4WD in a snowstorm out of state, 4WD was unusable. Took it to a local shop for a diagnosis and they found that the chain was worn and should have been replaced. They also found that that Sierra Transmission had forgotten to install the case alignment dowels. Sierra did not respond to direct communication and refused BBB arbitration. Cost me $1000 extra for the 2nd overhaul.
