The crew at SOC is fantastic. They're always willing to lend you good advice and exhibit interest and concern in your river activities. It's great that they'll give you a talk about kayaks or rafts, especially if you're a newbie. Guy Cables is an outstanding man, he's always been very kind to me and my friends, even going out of his way to make sure things go as smoothly as possible for our river trips. Also, I'd like to take this moment to say if you're interested in kayaking and rafting, to research such information like waterproofing before you go to a rental place. It's not their responsibility to cover your ass if you're an idiot and put your electronics in a dry bag expecting it to be fine by itself. Use your brain. Guy has plenty of integrity, but probably no patience for herp derps like ukarce down there. With that being said.... SOC rocks! I am brand new to the sport of Kayaking. When we went to rent a kayak from Sierra Outdoor Center in Auburn, among the things discussed we mentioned that we where beginners, that we wanted to go somewhere easy and relaxing, and that we would be bringing our keys, cell phone, and camera. The young lady behind the counter suggested Clementine Lake and suggested a ""Dry Bag"" for our belongings. more
