It would have been higher 12/2/2009

I just got back from a weekend in Reno, and ?I give the hotel a solid 4 star. It would have been higher if our room's bathroom didn't have a ""needs more freshening"" smell. Now the 4* to me came from a combination of: - the amenities - lobby d?cor (modern for Reno standards) - check-in process (fast enough) - great location with a riverfront view (rare to find any sort of view in a Reno hotel room) - our room's window having the ability to be opened (yet another first time). Thank God too because of all the usual smoke in the casino. For a non-smoker, that can be very overwhelming. What really gave the extra star fir me was their Lexie restaurant where we had Sunday brunch. Great that the view and overall surroundings of the restaurant reminded me more of Sea Cliff/Tahoe-ish, than a faux painting of a view on a wall, or some weird animatronic. The food was impressive for the fact that considering the sparse attendance at their 10am opening (I guess it was still early), they had a half and half choice when it came to breakfast or lunch - yeah I know, that's what brunch is about. It's hard to explain, but it really felt literally like the food was very much one or the other. Not much of the in betweens to bridge two. Now I'm used to getting more of a selection at a buffet brunch. I guess I'm spoiled. I did go for more the lunch fare than breakfast though, to get my $25 worth. I had oysters on the half shell, oysters Rockefeller, a piece of vegetable maki, a custom prepared steak which they brought specially to my table, plus dessert. ?They also offered boiled shrimp, king crab legs, but I didn't eat these as I'm not into it. The best idea I thought were the dishes that they brought to the tables specially. Like the lamb with rosemary mint sauce or the mussels. Too bad I was already into the dessert by the time the mussels came. more

Love this hotel 5/3/2006

We stayed here in April and had a great time. The hotel is elegant, comfortable and friendly. We really enjoyed the casino as well. Being smaller, it wasn't as overwhelming as other casinos and was beautiful to look at too. Our room was really comfortable. I loved the beds and the bedding. Our room overlooked the river and really was lovely. I really like the decor here. It's kind of San Francisco and Italy all together. I thought the restaurants were good. We enjoyed a really romantic evening in Lexie's. Even the Contrada was good for breafast. We didn't do room service though, we didn't have a chance. Overall, this hotel is really great. more

wonderful find! 7/4/2002

I was delighted to discovery the Siena and can't say enough good things about it.... just off the main drag but still convenient.... comfortable rooms with great beds, crisp sheets, comforters, etc..... a wonderful spa and roof top pool..... great wine bar.... helpful and friendly staff.... right on the river (small tables on balconies overlooking the river), half the rooms have views.... and a small and very friendly casino! I've stayed there several times and recommended it to many others. Cons: not a lot of parking more
