After waiting over 30 minutes after ordering, we were informed that the chef had left to make a delivery and 'would return shortly'. This wasn't our first visit but the service was bizarre. The young waitress got our order wrong, served the wrong food and forget one main completely and for this we waited over an hour to be served.\r During this time, the sushi chef was standing around with nothing to do. Had we been told the situation when we ordered, we could have changed our order or simply left. Ordering food and being stalled in unacceptable. more

I went there with a couple of friends to try something different, and we really enjoyed it.\r The service was phenomenal, even that they were very busy at the moment, the small Thai girl that took care of us took her time to talk and joke with us making us feel like being welcome.\r I really recommend this place for a nice, quiet , and romantic\r set.\r We had the sushi, very fresh and tasty A+. more

This is nice place for Thai food, with a gorgeous Thai-inspired decor, and a raised seating area with the traditional teakwood tables and Thai mats - great ambiance.\r \r The Thai food is good here too. The curries are tasty, but not too spicy for Americans. Pad thai is fine too. My favorite is the Mee krob, a fried appetizer that is done to perfection here. Solid place - give it a try! more

Service was fantastic! Wish I could say the same for the food. Rice was dry and so was the chicken terriyaki. Sushi was subpar. more

Siam River is a quint little place that has a cute atmosphere and is very low key. Its a loose tie affair when ever i go here and you can kick off your shoes. Literally. Their a section of the place where you can sit on the floor in traditonal thai seating. But the service is very friendly and easy to talk with. And the food is wonderful. I started with Khanon jeeb which are delicious little dumplings similiar to dim sum. They have a very nice mild flavor and their wonderfully presented. For dinner i had the red curry which was wonderful! It has a small kick of spice and the flavors blend so well with the heat and the cooling coconut milk. Overall a wonderful little place that has very friendly and casual staff. It also has a beautiful sushi bar decorated with huge wooden boats which they would prepare sushi on. The sushi is artfully made and the chefs are friendly. more

Hidden Spot 6/9/2011

Siam River is a small spot located right before the intercoastal mall. when entering the first thing im drawn to is the traditional thai seating on the floor with comfy cushions. The atmosphere is very quiet and its almost like i've opened a hidden treasure trove! The service is extreamly friendly and very accomodating. I started with the sushi appertizer which is an assortment of about 6 or so pieces. Really tasty and fresh in my opinion. Then for dinner i felt a lil' adventourous and got myself the stand up chicken. And WAS I SUPRISED. It was a whole chicken fixed on the plate that it is literally standing! But thats not all, then its set on fire right on your table. It was really amazing. It made my night. It's a really casual and relaxing spot and a great place to eat and relax when you find it. I enjoyed it and is so far a very nice thai and sushi spot more

we took our family of four there for dinner on a Thursday night, arrived at 5:00 and we were one of two tables there. Server eventually showed up,t our order wrong, then drifted off. He brought over sodas for the table, and we waited 30 minutes for appetizers (octupus sashimi & crab stick for the kids) before simply picking up and leaving. final straw was watching the sushi chef take off his apron and head to the back while we were still waiting for a sashimi appetizer that would take 60 seconds to prepare and plate. with all of the great places to eat in North Miami Beach, can't imagine why we'd ever come back to try this again. more

used to dine there so regularly it was almost a second home. around 2 or 3 yrs back the chef or management changed and the place has steadily declined since. had one real bad experience with the entire family and haven't returned since...from the curries being changed to using inferior quality produce, this rest. has really gone to the dogs ! ( pun intended )... more

quality, quantity of food has changed!beware 7/22/2008

within the last few months, I have had two bad experiences with this once good restaurant. The first time they gave me the wrong dish and argued with me (although I have eaten this same dish many times before) and the second time, the prices I noticed were raised at the same time as the quantities were almost halved. TERRIBLE way to keep patrons returning. Probably going to find another local Thai restaurant. Pros: decent thai food, decent sushi Cons: raised prices, halved the quantity and was hoping patrons didn't notice!!! more

good food..but don't get it delivered!! 4/12/2008

The food is good and reasonably priced-and if you dine in, the service is good. However, BEWARE if you order for delivery, as they add a $2.50 PER ITEM delivery charge ( at least for Aventura.. which is right around the corner... and the delivery person still expects a tip). Regardless of the amount of items, doesn't it take the same amount of gas to travel to a location?\r \r I was told this is due to the rising gas prices, however, I don't think they can justify charging $5-$10 dollars for local delivery and I believe they are taking advantage of the situation and their patrons.\r \r \r Pros: food, service Cons: delivery fee, prices are increasing more

WHY THAI? 1/5/2003

Meats and vegetables are always cooked just right ... never over cooked or soft. Fun and tasty Thai appetizers. Don't forget to finish with Thai donuts and dipping sauce! Pros: Fun food!, Friendly staff, fabulous food! Cons: limited liquor choice more
