I would always go to Siam House, atleast 2x weekly after work. I work down the street so it was always so conveniant. I did this for atleast a year or more until this past Valentines Day. I actually haven't been back there since. You see I'm a professional female who would feel comfortable sitting in a booth facing the window in the main dining area alone. Unfortunately, I worked Valentines Day and after work did my ritual and stopped by Siam House to grab some dinner. I was alone and feeling a little melancholy because I had just lost my mom to a longterm illness and was going through a divorce. When I entered the door I didn't recognize the woman greeting me but I think she said she was the owners sister. She asked,""how many""? And I replied,"" just one and I'd like the booth"". she immediately said I couldn't sit there that they were reserved for two or more. It was 4:30 in the afternoon and the restaurant was empty!! I was speechless and then told her I was going to just go, I was embarassed and hurt. I guess I was feeling sorry for myself. She said,""o.k."". Just like that and was going to let a customer walk out! I just couldn't stand it and asked for the management. Thats when she said she was in charge. I then preceded to tell her I eat there all year long and it's o.k. then but on a Holiday because its just me I'm kicked to the curb. She finally said fine and sat me at a booth. I should of left but really wanted tai food and it was the principle of it all. I ate my whole meal in less than 45 minutes and not one person sat at the tables she said were reserved. I just want people to know they are not always customer sensitive, atleast this woman wasn't. Someone later told me they had a similar run in at Siam House. I just hope the owner reads these reviews because that should never happen to anyone ever again. Other than that the food is awesome. Unfortunately, I haven't been back the experiance left a bad taste in my mouth!
