I had Thai food for the first time at Siam Cuisine and I've yet to visit another Thai restaurant in South Florida that can match it. In my opinion, Siam's the best. The interior of the restaurant is gorgeous -- lots of teak, beautiful carvings, overall a very pleasant atmosphere. It's a good place to dine alone as well -- I've never felt rushed or "odd" because I was a single diner.
The food is always very good as well. I usually get their Panang Chicken, though I've never been disappointed by their other dishes. Desserts are limited, but what is offered is good as well. My 8yo daughter loves their Pad Thai and their fried bananas.
Of course, the place is not exactly kid-friendly -- no children's menu here and the general atmosphere is distinctly adult (and gay, being Wilton Manors). But if your child is reasonably well behaved and a little adventurous, there's quite a bit that's suitable for a younger palate. Appetizers like Chicken Satay or spring rolls come with flavorful sauces that don't overwhelm, and they're perfectly portioned for little tummies. Older kids dig the noodle and rice dishes.
As well, the place fills up in a hurry (like every other restaurant in S. FL). By 7pm, there's a line at the door. I usually get there at around 6pm and the place is still reasonably quiet. But even when it's busy, you can still hold a conversation with your dining partner.
And even when it's busy, you still get great service. The waitstaff always do a great job of making sure you're taken care of.
I love this place!
