I called Shumate on night at 8 pm thinking i would have my name placed on an answering service and someone will call me back the next day. I was wrong I actually called and talked with a service manager that was on call, yes folks a real person that actually works and managed the business. Just talking with the manager I knew my family would be in good hands. We only have one system in our home and they offered to come out that night. Because it was late I wanted to get it looked at the next day, Leslie called me in the morning (7am) and she had a technician at my house before lunch, it was going to be 90 degrees again so I was happy to hear that! Richard was the service technician that came out and he found the problem right away with my control board fan relay that was keeping my indoor fan from coming on. Richard bypassed the fan relay on the control board and checked the system out to make sure that wasn't the only issue. He went and picked up a new control board and had my unit 100% operational again. Trustworthy and Reliable folks...I had my Goodman HVAC installed by Marty and the wonderful techs at Shumate Mencanical about 2 years ago and I have been so pleased with the system. I kept postponing my recommended annual tuneup of the AC unit because it was running so beautifully!...I knew I should have had them out to do a check up, but it kept getting pushed down on my list of things to do. Just last week I finally had them out to get everything cleaned and checked and they did such a fantastic job with the service, I could immediately tell a difference in the performance of the system. Everyone I have encountered from the company, from Leslie in the office to Barry our service technician has been a pleasure to do business with. We recently replaced the HVAC in our 20+ year old home. We chose Shumate Mechanical after much research. They not only met our expectations they far exceeded them. We have been completely satisfied. This compliment is not easily achieved in this day and time (and especially from me)! This being said, the team installing our new HVAC (Patrik and Stephen) were impressive. They took their time and did not sit around and take breaks. We have had many updates to our home recently (roof, piers, siding, remodeling) and the service is top notch and we would recommend Shumate Air Conditioning and Heating to anyone. When I came home from work one day to find my A/C wasn't working and it was 100 degrees outside,and plenty stuffy in my house! I didn't hesitate to call Shumate. I happen to be one of those people who most businesses would probably call high maintenance. I am definitely very particular about my home and any work or service performed in or on it. Their quote was far better than anyone else's, they are rated A+ with the Better Business and they got out to my house far sooner than anyone else would have. Shumate was not my first choice since I had never heard of them. However, I called, and a real person answered the phone. They connected me with the proper person who answered the phone, (no voicemail). The technician showed up on time!!!...was very courteous and professional, quoted me the repair cost, (which was very reasonable) before he did the work, fixed the problem and left me feeling like I had made the best decision of the day.\r I highly recommend these folks if you want honesty and integrity as well as professional service.\r I understand that they come highly recommended to replace my heating and air system when the time comes. SHUMATE HVAC (919-662-8040) quite literally pulled our bacon out of the fire when our 19 month old, $5375.00 Complete Lennox System (installed by Service Experts of Raleigh) failed during the June 08 heat wave. The ""Service Experts"" refused to send a repairman for four full days and were very rude about telling us so. Shumate Heating and A/C (Albert to be precise) came to our rescue in two hours and after a one hour repair to the Service Experts installation gaff we were up and running. Needless to say we signed a maintenance agreement with Shumate and ""Service Experts"" will be summarily kicked to the proverbial curb. We recommend you do the same.
