Shumate Faulk Funeral Home

I would not recommend Shumate Faulk Funeral Home to anyone in Wayne County. I have been to several services there over the past few years and have been very upset in how the deceased person looked in the casket. The people to me seem to look bloated, and the facilites themself need a major facelift. I also went in around Christmas time one year and was embarrased to see not only a Christmas Tree in the entrance but Red Bows hanging on the lights on the wall in the Chapel. How tacky is that. A family has lost a loved one, and they are bringing out the Christmas Tree to celebrate. I am also not impressed with the flowers that they have in there florist. Most of the items that I have seen from this ship appear to be reused and just plain old. I have now learned there are so many other choices in flower shops other than the one at Shumate. My family is willing to drive across the county if thats what it takes in order to get a service with some dignity. I think that its about time that Shumate Faulk has some competition. more

We went to a wake at this facility last night and have never seen any one look worse than this person. I cannot imagine a funeral home doing this kind of work! He looked like he had been dead for weeks and the coloring was horrible. I do not understand how a funeral home could do this to someone! I have been to four funerals in the last month, two across town and one out of town and none of these looked like this poor man. One of the others looked horrible when she died and like her old self when they got through. The other died from cancer and looked good where this poor man just died and looked like he had been dead for weeks. Shame on Shumate Faulk for making this family have to see him look this way for the last time they will ever see him!!!! Cons: Have never seen good work from them. Always unorganized! more
