The people were awesome and so was the food! Our waiter was so friendly! We have a two-year old son and he just loved the music they were playing! He would take a bite of catfish and start moving to the beat, it was a good time! You gotta stop by for some good eats!!! :} more

Cheese dip is pretty good and the onion loaf is very good. My husband loves the brisket and also the catfish which is very tasty and never greasy. I also like the catfish. The roast chicken is very good. My kids love the chicken fingers and the pizzas. The only thing we dislike is that you have to get your own beverage refills. They do have refillable mugs - you buy it the first time and can then get free drinks anytime you go in after that if you take the mugs. All in all, we enjoy eating here. It is always clean, fairly quiet and the food generally is served quickly. more

Shorty Smalls offers all around southern hospitality, deco and great tasting food. Weekends you can expect a large crowd and a long wait but the food is well worth it! Shorty Smalls doesn't go "small" on their portions either, you can also expect to bring home a doggie bag due to the generous portions you get. The atmosphere of this place is wonderful and so is the food. It is a terrific family restaurant and the barbeque is excellent. Very reasonable prices too. Highly recommend this place. more

The inside looks like a barn that is half about to fall down, but apparently the waitress said it was on purpose which made it kind of cool. Definitely a "country" atmosphere. They do a good job sticking with their theme. The food was pretty good and wait staff was friendly and attentive. Pretty decent place. more

My husband and I love going to this place. It was one of the first restaurants recommended to us before we moved here to go check out and try. The food's excellent! We usually get ribs or a combo. The ribs always turn out perfect. Love the fish and shrimp that I've gotten there too. I also have enjoyed the ravioli that was served over spinach. I think the servings are always the perfect size not too much and not petite like an appetizer that leaves you craving for more. They have a good selection of desserts too. The fried twinkie's not so bad either, I've never had another one so I can't compare. Service is always excellent. My 8 month old almost pick pocketed the waiter and the waiter just played along with her. And it seems like every other time we go we get a discount or something free. Like this last time we went we just had to fill out a survey for a free shake. And another time before a coin was flipped to see if we'd get one of our entree for free and we guessed right and got one free! The only one small complaint is the lack of parking spaces. It always seems to be busy the last few nights we've gone. In fact the last time we went someone stole our parking spot we were going to pull into when we had our turn signal on! Oh, well. Life's too short to ticked off by inconsiderate people. For your birthday they treat you to a song too if they find out, because last time we were in there were at least 3 people serenaded in the short couple of hours we were there. It's a definite must go if you are here in Little Rock, AR. more

Shorty Small's is a very good restaurant to eat in. It is sometimes crowded but that's only because the food is so good. I had their baby back ribbs and they pretty much fell off the bone. Our wait was not long once we got into the restaurant.And the place was really jumping. So to get service so fast was without a doubt surprising. The people were very nice and friendly more

The huge mozerella sticks are ridiculous! They are so good and are a treat. They have ridiculous desserts, too. Basically, this place will put you on a verge of a heart attack, but you can find healthy fare on the menu, also. But, it's definitely the place to cheat if you want to. Shorty Smalls has been around for a long time. They are just as much a bar as a restaurant, but the food brings most people in. Food is classic American and not for the health conscious. Burgers, steaks, barbque line most of the menu. Fried potato and onions are the main veggies. There are two locations, the original on Rodney Parham in LR and behind the mall in NLR. This place is always crowded even on weeknights. Near several large neighborhoods in LR, it is a good place for families or for meeting with the buddies. more
