I ordered a 2000 ft modular from Shoreline Modular from Probuilt in PA and was stupid enough to sign a Construction Management Contract whereas they would supply subcontractor quotes and oversee contractor work. Well from the beginning there were problems. Shoreline was never there to oversee as far as I could tell and it became a full time job for me. They had as their main buttoning up crew (roof, vinyl siding, garage etc.) a subcontractor Sunset Associates from Ansonia. They were sloppy with trash thrown all over the yard. The garage was framed with an opening too big for the garage overhead door. The vinyl siding was short in areas and I had to argue over this. The trim was jagged and uneven. I caught them putting vinyl and shutters around a slanted window. The roof was so badly done that 3 roofing companies condemned it with a report outlining how bad it was. The carpet squeaked as though stepping on bubble wrap. Granted Shoreline replaced the roof and some of the carpet months later but the carpet is still squeaking and i suspect it is the flooring. I had paid 60% of the construction fee but refused to pay the rest and Shoreline has put a lien on my house and threatens to take the house away. I have a gas fireplace that came with the modular with missing parts and of an obscure brand so i can't get anyone to fix it. The master bathroom shower basin was put in not level and then reinstalled which has messed up the tile and I can't get the tile people back and have duct tape holding the bottom tile on. There are pop out nails, settlement cracks and loose boards on the stairs going to the second floor never mind the inverted corner where they made a mistake and did not bolt the house together flush. The gutters are leaking, uneven and pitched wrong. Never again even modular.
Cons: headaches and sleepless nights
