I brought my husband to the emergency room for heat stroke. He was unable to talk properly, unable to stand properly, and starting to feel numb in his legs. His electrolytes were off and his brain wasn't getting enough oxygen--it was a true medical emergency. When we got there, they sat him in a wheelchair in the waiting room while he was blacking out, and no one paid any further attention to him for 45 minutes. Finally, in desperation, we had to leave to go to another hospital.
