Last week, I drove into Houston for business from Corpus Christi. I spent a couple of hours in a meeting and we adjourned for lunch. One of my friends, whom I worked with, wanted to take me out and introduce me to his town. He wanted to take me to a ""new"" Indian restaurant that opened in the local Town Center. Being from Dallas and have eaten my fair share of Indian food, I agreed.
As we reached the restaurant, I was ready to give my friend either a thumbs up or a good lashing for this ""experiment"" he was putting me through. We walked in and the place was a bit empty. We were seated at a booth and told the buffet was open. We started with the buffet and piled it on. I was a bit skeptical on the food as I poured (since it didn't look traditional - which is surprising for me to say since I'm Caucasian), but I went ahead and tried. I was amazed at how it tasted. The food was well cooked, and had a different but satisfying taste. My favorite was the chicken tikka masala. When you try it, you have to savor it in your mouth and not rush to eat it.
Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. The next time I come through Houston, I will definitely stop by (or atleast grab a takeout)!!
