I began my journey as an acupuncturist as a patient, after being seriously injured in an airplane incident. After several long and painful months of being treated by Western Medicine, I saw slow improvements; however I still could not perform some of the basic functions of everyday life. Desperate to get well, I made an appointment for an acupuncture treatment, even though I was afraid of needles.
Acupuncture changed my life. I was so profoundly affected by the healing results of my treatment, that I changed my career to dedicate myself to this healing art and enrolled at Tai Sophia Institute to earn a master?s degree in acupuncture.
I love what I am doing and I am thrilled to be able to help people. I see acupuncture as a lifelong commitment of learning and I am grateful to be an instrument in improving people?s lives.. Acupuncture affects each person individually, but the range of conditions that acupuncture is effective in treating falls into five broad categories:
1. Aches and pains
2. Mental/emotional conditions
3. Infections and viral conditions
4. Severe long term illnesses
5. Preventative treatments
The World Health Organization recognizes 43 conditions to be successfully treated by acupuncture and another 63 conditions where acupuncture was effective but further studies are needed.
