Is a good sushi place if your trying to get a quick grap of sushi, but is not the best place ever like somepeople commented. I will only come here again if im starving and want sushi quick. more

My favorite sushi place in town! I live the service and food. more

Great place to grab good sushi. Best place around in terms of value and overall unique experience. Only other places in the area are either too pricy for what you yet or not as tasty. It's also tucked away in a plaza so it's popular but never jam packed. more

I go to this restaurant every week. Their food is always great, and the service is always excellent. I enjoy the boats that go around the moat looking thing. It encourages you to try new things. You never know what you may end up loving. Price wise its not so bad. I always end up spending about $30 to $35 on two people and we eat a lot. This is my favorite sushi place by far. more

Very good place to eat . Shima is one of the few best sushi places in Miami lakes with great food and very good prices ... more

I've been going to Shima with my wife since they opened 2 years ago. We go twice a week, the food is great, cheap, and authentic. Service is even better, friendly staff, very attentive. I'm a sushi connoisseur and have eaten at just about every sushi restaurant in Miami, and the top two in Miami in order are Shima and in second Shibui. more

We like to try new restaurants on "date night" so we decided on Shima based on Urbanspoon's recommendation and we couldn't be more impressed! The chicken teriyaki is excellent and the sushi is outstanding!! I loooooove the dragon roll and the Boston roll. Prices are good; service is better; and whomever got the idea for the floating boats is a genius! Each time they add a new, different roll to the "regatta" it makes you want to try it. Two thumbs up!! I'm definitely coming back. more

Stfu moxie15. You're just jealous that shima has so many customers. You know it was good. Don't tell lies. And the place where the boats are going around? Is well constructed. Stop making lies!! Look at everyone else's comment. They say it's good. U know it's good. And Ur "friends" or whatever has bad taste in food then. You too. Because we all know that it is DELICIOUS. don't be jealous and make up lies!! Don't talk lies. It's always filled with people. And u know it! And the boats are cool FOREVER. you're not cool. You're just a loser who's jealous. Don't make lies. K thanks. more

It is AMAZING!!! The boats are amazingly cool!!!!! It is all delicious, very cheap for it's deliciousness, anyone who says they don't like here is insane. To tell you the truth, I was in doubt at first but when I had their sushi?? It made my day!! It is AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS. I am bringing all my friends there next time!! It's great. You have to try this everyone. It's delicious delicious. And the boats are entertaining(: makes you feel like you're at home because the waiters are amazing and you see the sushi being made. Also visit katana. KATANA is the original version before Shona, and this restaurant is always over filling with customers and is amazing!! It's been on the herald newspaper three times now and has been award best 2009. It's delicious. Both Shima and katana. Even though i don't work at katana, I think I might since there's so many people always. Might get good money for little time(; CONSIDER EATING AT SHIMA OR KATANA!! I promise you it's delicious!! more

This place had many favorable reviews so I decided to give it a try. I have been in this shopping center before and never thought twice to try sushi at Shima's. The restaurant inside is not in the best shape. I ultimately wanted to see the hype about the boats (not sailboats as in a previous review). You pick sushi from several boats going around a poorly constructed waterway for who knows what length of time. The boat thing is cool for about 10 seconds, makes you wonder if sushi room tempature is even sanitary. All food - sushi portions are very small and after several dishes I was not very satisfied. Service is barely okay. The only reason I decide to write my experience is because everyone I ate dinner with was very surprised at Urbanspoon's rating. When you walk through the door your first impression is all you need. more

Awsome sushi! Very good idea with the sail boats since we can try a little bit of everything. :-) more

Sushi is my favorite food and I insist on the best quality. This restaurant is VERY CLEAN, the sushi is SUPER FRESH, and the SERVICE is OUTSTANDING. The prices are EXCELLENT; very reasonable and surely worth it. I have also lost a considerable amount of unnecessary weight by replacing heavier meals with a refreshing serving of sushi. This restaurant is at the top of my list. The a-la-carte sushi river (single servings on wooden boats powered by water circulation around the bar) is an excellent grab-and-go or sit-and-feast choice. If this place was open 24x7, I would live there and change my mailing address, lol. (Yeah, it's that good) (and NO, I do NOT work for them nor do I know the owners (at the time of posting this review)). Cheers! more

One of the greatest! The miami handroll is phenomenal" just the right combination of masago and salmon skin". You will not be able to find a traditional Japanese sukiyaki and shabu shabu anywhere in south Florida but here, other restaurants already served these dishes made to their specification but at shima you add your own ingredients at it leisure. Family friendly! Tempura ice cream Is a must to have more

I moved to the neighborhood in 1987, I have had the Teriaki Chicken hundreds of times. Everything is perfect, the Teriaki Steak is fantastic. Try the Special Salid, it has Crab and Avacado and the ginger dressing is to die for. Don't forget to order some sake but remember, don't get sockied and drive.\r HM more
