Shiki

My husband and I have been going to Shiki for YEARS-even when there was only ONE Shiki; loved every experience, told many friends and took friends and family; until on Feb 13th 2011 (Early Valentines) we decided to get ‘The Titanic’ YES….$65.00; but we knew we could do it. The manager literally humiliated us by bullying his way- hovering over us and said’ THERE IS NO WAY YOU TWO CAN EAT THE TITANIC-ITS TOO MUCH FOR THE TWO OF YOU!” We shrunk under the Sushi bar and we changed the order. I would hate to work under such a control freak if he treats customers’ like that; I can only imagine his employees while he stands back and watches TV as the employees all hustle as usual. We ended up ordering one by one what we ‘wanted/didn’t want’ and our bill was $135.00!! yep….I think we could have TAKEN THE TITANIC you control freak! ...NeveraShikicusomeragain- TIME TO FIND A NEW JAPANESE FAVORITE PLACE WHO TREATS CUTOMERS WITH KINDNESS! I walked into Shiki a couple years ago and turned RIGHT back around because it smelled fishy - literally. Fresh fish should NOT smell. I did give it another try this week for lunch. It wasn't terrible, but I won't be rushing back. The sushi bar is just inside the front door - kinda awkward to eat with your back to the entrance. I was a bit surprised that my Lady Love roll was about $3 more than at other places...and there were only 6 pieces. Other rolls were consistently priced, however. Overall it wasn't terrible. Maybe okay for lunch, but I will NOT go for dinner. I'll stick with Fuji and Okura.\r \r I really didn't like the fact that the restaurant was just plain DIRTY. The floors, doors, windows, sushi bar glass. Very unkept. more

I love this place. If you go get the hibachi and ask them to do the volcano. At this restaurant they cook in front of you and the volcano is where they take an onion apart and stack it like a volcano then they light it on fire. It is great. I take everyone there if I meet people and they don't know where to go to eat. I live about half hour from there but still go about every week or every other week. Pros: you sit next to people you don't know and get to meet them and have casual diner conversations as if you have always known them. Cons: the con can be if you have a crying baby sitting at your area. more

I am not sure about this restaurant. It would not let me erase the review that I mistakenly put on this restaurant. Pros: The restaurant is nice enough. Cons: The food is sub par, the manager was rude when trying to resolve a disappointing meal. more

i eat sushi at least 3 times a week and shiki is by far my favorite place. i go to the other places only if shiki is closed. the head sushi chef at the reno location is extremely knowledgable and talented. highly recommended. fresh fish. great selection. great service. not so great 80s music (lol). more

This is the best sushi place we've been to in OKC!! I've been here several times over the last 2 years. For those who don't like sushi, there's a traditional menu as well as a hibachi grill for those gringos who don't like sushi. In fact, you can sit at the hibachi table with your buddies and only order sushi.\r \r Track how much you spend because you'll like the food and end up with a large bill while on company travel and you get home and have to explain to the boss why you spend well beyond the GSA per diem rate and then have to pay the difference out of your own pocket while Eddie gets to take home a piece of cheesecake. more
